Fun Sorbet Recipes with the Ninja CREAMi

I’ve enjoyed my Ninja CREAMi. For something advertised primarily as an ice-cream maker, there are a lot of various Ninja CREAMi recipes out there. One of my favorite things about it are the super-easy Ninja CREAMi sorbet recipes you can make.

Here are 3 easy sorbet recipes that you can make with the Ninja CREAMi. And I promise, your entire family will enjoy them!

Strawberry Sorbet

Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits and taste delicious as a sorbet. This strawberry sorbet recipe was made with just one ingredient. You guessed it…strawberries! It doesn’t get much easier (or healthier) than that!

Quick functional nutrition facts about strawberries: they protect your heart, increase HDL (good) cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, and guard against cancer.

Packed with vitamins, fiber, and particularly high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols, strawberries are a sodium-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free, low-calorie food. Strawberries can be easily made into a sorbet using fresh, frozen, or canned fruit. I personally prefer using a fresh or frozen variety because I can control how much sugar (if any) I’d like to add to my sorbet. A great idea is to pick strawberries in late spring and then use frozen strawberries to make sorbet all throughout the year!

For today’s recipe, I didn’t have any frozen strawberries on hand so I purchased whole frozen strawberries from my grocery store and then allowed them to thaw out in the refrigerator. It is crucial to finely cut up your strawberries to help the Ninja Creami create a smooth strawberry sorbet. While cutting strawberries, make sure to use a kitchen spoon to mash the strawberries into your Ninja Creami pint container until you have enough strawberries to reach the max fill line. Pop the strawberries into the freezer for 24 hours and then you will be ready to make your sorbet!

Use the Ninja Creami to make your sorbet by simply inserting the pint container (lid removed) inside the Ninja Creami outer bowl and clicking in place. Select “sorbet” and watch your strawberries spin! Once my strawberries had been creamed, I noticed that the recipe was still a little icy so I hit my “respin” button to help the sorbet get to a creamy texture.

Strawberry sorbet is a great palette cleanser after a meal or a lighter option for us all to enjoy during the week with family or friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint Frozen (or fresh) strawberries

Instructions

  1. Using a knife, dice strawberries
  2. Place diced strawberries and any juice into the Ninja CREAMi cups
  3. Freeze for 24 hours
  4. Using the Ninja CREAMi, process the frozen contents using the “Sorbet” setting
  5. For more creamy sorbet, process again using the “Re-spin” feature

Ninja CREAMi Pineapple Sorbet Recipe

Have you ever heard the saying, “Be a pineapple?” To be a pineapple is to be a person who is both confident and kind. I love the encouraging words of this quote and also the health benefits associated with actually eating a pineapple!

Did you know that pineapples are an amazing anti-inflammatory fruit, great for your growth hormones, fighting cancer, and helping with digestion? Pineapples are one of the best fruits to incorporate into your diet and make an amazing palette cleanser when frozen into a sorbet.

You’ll want to keep this pineapple sorbet handy all year long for health benefits and to enjoy after a flavorful meal. If you are serving pineapple sorbet after dinner, you can incorporate pineapple into your dinner dishes (it pairs well with meats such as Asian teriyaki chicken and baked ham or even fresh fish tacos with pineapple salsa!).

A pineapple sorbet is delicious and super simple to make with a Ninja Creami. Make sure to cut pineapple chunks into tiny tidbits and use the juice from a bag of frozen pineapples to prepare your sorbet. I didn’t have to “Respin” my sorbet once it finished blending but I do recommend allowing the pineapple sorbet to sit on the counter for 2-3 minutes before scooping so you get that smooth sorbet scoop right into your bowl.

The pineapple flavor bursts into your mouth with this sorbet and will satisfy your sweet tooth after a savory meal. Enjoy your sorbet and be a pineapple!

Ingredients

  • Chopped pineapple chunks (frozen or fresh)

Instructions

  1. Dice pineapple chunks
  2. Place diced pineapple into Ninja cup, pressing down as tightly as possible, and filling to the line
  3. Place top onto Ninja CREAMi cup and freeze for 24 hours
  4. After 24 hours, process using the “Sorbet” setting on the Ninja CREAMi
  5. For creamier sorbet, process again using the “Re-spin” feature

Ninja CREAMi Lemon Sorbet Recipe

As I debated which Ninja CREAMi sorbet recipes to include, I decided to save my favorite for last! I use a sugar substitute in this one to cut down on the calories.

As seasons change, it is helpful to adjust your diet and absorb less sugar. Sugar isn’t great for your gut health but lemons are fantastic! Lemons are anti-inflammatory and help your body fight infection. For this lemon sorbet recipe, I chose sugar substitutions that work well with the natural healing power of lemon to create a yummy sorbet that the whole family will enjoy.

My husband and I shared the pint after dinner with our kids and we loved the flavor and texture. As a mom, I am happy to serve a sorbet that is not loaded in sugar and helps my family stay well as the seasons change.

  1. Thank you for these ideas! I buy canned pineapple tidbits and stuff the creami container with pineapple and fill to line with the 💯% juice. My favorite!! I’d love to try the lemon recipe!! I also use canned peaches and it’s juice. So good!! I’m trying fresh strawberries today. I cut them up and stirred sugar into them. Letting it sit in fridge to get juicy. Then I’ll transfer to pint container and freeze. I tried to freeze fresh cut up strawberries with apple juice. That sorbet was kinda tart. Whipped cream helped 😁
