Blendtec Stealth 885 is still the most popular commercial blender from the brand. It’s the proper contender of Vitamix’s The Quiet One. In terms of noise level, it’s slightly louder by a few decibels. However, it’s still in the conversational range.
When it comes to performance, it’s more of a beast with 3.8 horsepower.
Commercial blenders with a sound enclosure system are ideal for a restaurant setup. It cancels the noise quite a bit, allowing you to set the mood with a nice playlist from Spotify.
Another advantage it has over Vitamix is the automatic blending programs. Instead of saving six settings at a time, you can access multiple blending profiles for those six buttons. By default, you have four blending profiles. That’s a total of 24 automatic blending cycles right off the bat.
And if that’s not enough, you can even create your very own custom profiles. I know Vitamix has a similar feature, but you can only use six settings without reprogramming your machine.
That’s one thing that you need to think over if you’re undecided between getting the Blendtec Stealth 885 or Vitamix’s commercial blender.
By the way, you can also have the Blendtec Stealth 885 installed on your countertop. Check the photo on the right (if you’re viewing this on a big screen) or down below (if you’re using a smartphone).
Now, let’s get to the nitty gritty details of this amazing product.

Blendtec Commercial Blender Features
Programming Options
Blendtec approached this part differently than Vitamix the Quiet One. Those six buttons has four modes which they refer to as blending profiles—multipurpose, smoothies, coffee, and milkshake.
By default, buttons 1-6 have the Multipurpose function.
If you want to switch between profiles, press the cancel/exit button for 3 seconds to enter the programming mode. From there, you can pick any of the four profiles. Use the scroll button to navigate, then the select button to confirm your choice.
Here are the designated blending cycles of each blending mode. If you’re curious about the run time, it’s listed in the next table.
Default Blending Cycles
Button # | Multipurpose | Smoothies | Coffee | Milkshake |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | *Small Milkshake | Small Smoothie w/Fresh Fruit | Small Margarita / Ice Cappuccino | Small Milkshake |
2 | *Granita / Medium Milkshake | Medium Smoothie 4 | Large Ice Cappuccino | Granita / Medium Milkshake |
3 | *Small Margarita / Ice Cappuccino | Granita / Medium Milkshake | Small Slushy / Milkshake | Milkshake with frozen fruit |
4 | *Medium Smoothie 4 | Medium Smoothie 3 | Granita / Medium Milkshake | Large Milkshake 1 |
5 | *Large Smoothie 4 | Large Smoothie 4 | Large Smoothie 2 | Large Milkshake 2 |
6 | *50 Seconds @ Speed 7 | 50 Seconds @ Speed 7 | 50 Seconds @ Speed 7 | Large Milkshake 3 |
*These are the default programs for the six buttons.
Though it’s complicated at first, in a business setting, it’s highly beneficial. It will give you more blending cycles to work with just six buttons. This feature is probably the ultimate selling point of Blendtec Stealth 885, 875, or the 895 NBS model.
If you can’t find anything on the default profiles, you can add as many custom profiles as you need.
Here are all the available blending cycles that you can pick for your custom blending programs.

If you can’t find anything on that massive list, you can also make your own blending cycle through the Blend Wizard.
BlendWizard: How do you program Blendtec Stealth?
I couldn’t find a video demo on how to do it. I hope these screenshots are clear enough.
Step 1: Clone an existing profile.
Step 2: Edit your cycle.
Step 3: Save your selection, and go back to the main dashboard to download your custom profile to your flash drive.
Importing it to your machine is another process on its own. When you purchase this Blendtec commercial blender, you’ll find the instruction in your product manual.
At least, you now have a basic idea on how to program a custom blending profile.
This programming setup applies to all the Blendtec Stealth models: 885, 875, or the newer 895 NBS.
Is Blendtec Stealth 885 easy to use?
Once you found the best settings for your drinks, operating it is very straightforward. Apart from opening the enclosure, it works like a regular countertop blender.
The only issue that I can see with the Blendtec commercial blenders is it doesn’t have a user-friendly pour spout. I know that they are trying to stay true to their trademark jar design, but transferring your drink into your customer’s cup will require a little bit of effort.
In terms of washing your jar, Blendtec also offers a rinsing tool. We’ll discuss it some more in the accessories section. Apart from the blender itself, this is the next best investment you’ll make for your business.
The thing is, most commercial blender manufacturers don’t recommend running your jar/blade assembly over and over in a dishwasher. It’s going to shorten its lifespan real quick.
See the Blendtec 885 Blender in action:
Blendtec Stealth 885 is the flagship commercial blender from the brand. It features a robust 3.8 horsepower motor that can craft smoothies and milkshakes in mere seconds. Though it’s powerful, the noise it produces is tolerable due to its sound enclosure system. Blendtec Stealth 885 also features multiple blending presets and other options to streamline your business operation.
Blendtec Commercial Blender Accessories
Depending on the package you purchased, it may already include a pair of Blendtec’s FourSide jar system or its bigger WildSide+ sibling. In case you need more of these containers, here are all the available accessories that you can upgrade to.
These attachments will fit the Blendtec 875, 885 model or the newer 895 NBS.
FourSide Jar
Model # 40-609-62
This clear FourSide jar is the default pitcher of all the Blendtec commercial blenders with a 32 oz (946 ml) blending capacity. It’s perfect for making up to two medium-cup smoothie servings.

When you’re making smoothies or milkshakes at scale, you’ll be needing one of these washing equipments.
Rapid Rinser
Model # JRE-610
The Rapid Rinser will complement your Blendtec Stealth 885 quite well. If you’re making hundreds upon hundreds of smoothies a day, you need a quick way to rinse your container for the next recipe.
These accessories are optional, but I’ll explain it anyway.
Frothing Jar
Model # 406-611-60
This Frothing Jar has a different blade system. It’s designed for whipping up cream or frothing large quantities of milk.

Other Blendtec Commercial Blenders
If the Blendtec 885 doesn’t appeal to you, here are a few options that you can consider.
Blendtec Stealth 875
Blendtec Stealth 875 is a more modern sibling of the 885 model. Everything is pretty much the same except for the digital speed control.
It comes with a manual speed tuner in the form of a digital slider that will come in handy when you’re experimenting with a new recipe.
Blendtec Stealth 895 NBS with Nitro System
In case you want something more sophisticated, the Blendtec Stealth 895 NBS got you covered. It has a unique tool for processing smoothies and shakes directly from a disposable cup, which they called “Nitro System.”
IMHO, blending drinks directly from your customer’s cup is a brilliant idea. If you’re staff only needs to deal with a single-serve smoothie, it’s going to be a huge time saver.
