The Breville Immersion Blender BSB510XL Control Grip is not new to the game, yet it’s still one of the best out there. In other words, it certainly stood the test of time.

Here’s the deal:

When it came out, the Breville Hand Blender was unlike any other. Its main selling factors were the ergonomic handle, powerful motor, non-scratch base, and anti-suction for perfect control.

In fact, these features are still one of the crucial telltales on what makes a good hand blender today.

On a slightly different note:

Their newer version, the All-In-One Immersion Blender has also been around for quite some time. The most significant advantage of this model is the included accessories.

Instead of a mini chopper, the all-in-one has an actual food processor with blades, a slicer, and a grater. Moreover, it comes with a variable masher to attain your ideal mashed potato taste. With these accessories, the all-in-one hand blender is indeed a multipurpose powerhouse.

For now, let’s talk about what else makes Breville’s BSB510 great to this day.

Let’s start with the advantages.

PROS

  • Midrange price point
  • Convenient to hold with modern aesthetics
  • 280-watt motor
  • 15 speeds
  • Detachable shaft for easy cleaning
  • Includes whisk, and chopper attachment
  • Anti-suction technology
  • Non-scratch base
  • Dishwasher safe
  • BPA-free
  • 1-year warranty

CONS

  • The lids (with gears) and gearboxes are not dishwasher safe
  • Compared to newer designs, this one is a bit bulky
  • The mini chopper isn’t impressive

Breville Control Grip Immersion Blender Features

How does Breville Stick Blender perform?

With a 280-watt motor and 15-speed dial, it’s like this Breville Immersion Blender can do anything. From the most basic gravy to smoothies or pureeing soups.

Additionally, there’s also a whisk and chopper attachment. This gives the Breville Stick Blender more applications. It gives you the ability to whip up some cream, grate cheese, chop carrots, onions, nuts, and more.

Here’s the thing:

The bell guard has a unique oval design combined with internal ribbing. This feature results in less suction and more turbulent action. Therefore, it’s a lot easier to control, and more importantly, it yields a more satisfactory result.

Here’s more:

The Breville BSB510 highlights a soft blade guard base. Unlike stainless steel bell guards, this non-scratch hand blender will be safe to use on your non-stick pans.

See the Breville Immersion Blender in action:

The Breville Control Grip Immersion Blender has the most comfortable handle design in the market, featuring a soft base and anti-suction technology. With a 280-watt motor and 15 speeds, it becomes a superior, versatile machine. It also has a whisk attachment and a 25 oz chopper accessory for multiple recipes.

Is Breville Hand Blender easy to use?

The name control grip is literally based on their ergonomic design for the motor base. This allows your hand to naturally fit the handle and be able to use the machine effortlessly.

With that said, “control grip” is (kind of) short for easy to control, ergonomic grip blender.

As if that’s not enough:

The accessories (blending shaft included) are straightforward to assemble, thanks to the quick-release feature. To attach, simply align and push the attachment onto the motor base until you hear a click.

Plus, you can easily detach the accessory by pressing both the eject buttons. Pretty neat compared to the traditional twist and lock, right?

More importantly, cleaning the blender is as simple as 3 steps.

  1. Add a cup of soapy water to the blending jug.
  2. Next, blend for at least 30 seconds.
  3. Then, a quick rinse, and you’re done!

It’s also dishwasher safe (except for lids and gearboxes).

Here’s the catch:

The dial is placed on top, and you cannot change the speed with just one hand. It’s either you have to pause blending or use your other hand.

Nowadays, there are hand blenders you can operate singlehandedly, like the Braun Hand Blender[link] that has a pressure-activated speed trigger.
