This Cuisinart Blender has two variants—the Cuisinart 7-Speed SmartPower Blender, and the Cuisinart SmartPower Duet Blender and Food Processor.
The first one is cheaper but it doesn’t include any accessories. The second product, which we’ll be focusing on in this review, has a complementary food processor attachment.
Getting the latter would be a more favorable option, considering that you won’t be able to upgrade later with the 7-Speed variant.
Now, let’s discuss the Cuisinart SmartPower Duet Blender real quick.
Its ultimate selling point is its price. It’s one of the most affordable countertop blenders in the market that already includes a food processing kit.
One concern about it though, is power. The 500-watt motor pales in comparison to the competition. Even the best personal blenders have a more powerful motor than this one.
But if you’re only looking for an entry-level blending machine, it’s good enough for its price.

Cuisinart SmartPower Duet Features
What can you make with Cuisinart Blender?
I’m quite concerned about the 500-watt motor of this Cuisinart Blender, but it does quite work well for crushing ice. In short, it’s good enough for making smoothies and shakes and performing basic food processing tasks.
Here’s a more extensive list of what this blender is capable of.
When processing frozen fruits, just make sure it’s cut into smaller chunks, preferably half an inch. It can take on ice without any issues, but it’s going to be harder when dealing with fibrous produce.
Here are a few things that it can’t do:
Hot Soups—In can process hot items, but you need a separate pot to heat your soup ingredients. When doing so, take the lid cap off to prevent pressure build-up.
If you need a blender that cooks soup up on its own, you might want to check the Ninja Cold and Hot Blender.
Make Flour—Blending dry ingredients with this blender is also not possible. It lacks the raw processing power needed to grind whole grains. That is something unique to high-powered blending machines like Vitamix blenders.
Nut Butters—It can grind nuts into smaller bits, but it’s not ideal for making nut butters. The Cuisinart SmartPower Blender is not designed for processing thick blends.
Frozen Desserts—The same goes for frozen desserts. Its thick consistency is going to be hard on the motor. However, you can blend smaller chunks of frozen fruits as part of a smoothie recipe.
Is it easy to use?
In terms of usability, Cuisinart SmartPower Duet Blender gained a score of 3/5. It has a lot of room for improvement, IMHO.
Here’s why:
The buttons will make you think. Numbering would have been much better than stir, chop, mix, and puree. To give you a clear idea, stir has the lowest revolutions per minute (RPM), and puree has the highest. The puree mode, by the way, is meant for processing smoothies and shakes.
Other than that, the other buttons are pretty much self-explanatory. The food processor button is obviously intended for the food processor attachment. And, the ice crush button is designed for grinding ice cubes.
Another thing about this Cuisinart Blender is the container itself. Initially, I thought that the blade assembly is attached to the glass pitcher. It turned out to be the opposite.
Most of the leading countertop blenders have a fixed blade system. It’s easier to deal with and easier to wash.
Speaking of cleanup, thankfully, all the removable parts are dishwasher safe.

Is Cuisinart Blender worth it?
The Cuisinart SmartPower Duet Blender and Food Processor is an entry-level countertop blending machine. It’s not as powerful as leading products in its class, but it can perform most of the basic tasks. If you’re looking for a bargain on your next smoothie maker, then I would highly recommend this Cuisinart Blender.
