Dash Blender is a vintage product from the outside, but it has modern digital controls. It is somewhat a combination of Kitchenaid’s classic aesthetics and Vitamix’s performance.
What makes it a good option is its 2.2 HP motor. It’s on par with Vitamix’s blender line up capable of making hot soups and grinding whole grains.
Vitamix has an edge in terms of usability, but it can’t beat the price point of Dash Chef Series Digital Blender. If you want to go for a Vitamix model, their cheapest model is the Vitamix E310.
Award: #2 Best High-Powered Blender
Let’s take our attention to the Kitchenaid K400 blender. Designwise, Kitchenaid is the apparent winner. It’s more minimalist and more refined, but it lacks the raw processing power offered by Dash.
The only thing about it is its tall profile and user-friendliness issue. However, we can agree that the Dash Blender is a worthy contender for these leading brands. It’s an option worth considering.

Dash Chef Series Power Blender Features
What can you make with Dash Blender?
Dash Chef Blender has a powerful 2.25 HP motor. It’s one of those countertop blending machines that can heat soup up with just friction heat. It’s not just for making smoothies.
With that said, here’s a more extensive list of its capabilities.
If you’re wondering if it can bring soups to a boil, it won’t. The maximum heat transfer it can achieve is 165ºF or 70ºC in eight minutes, precisely the same as what a Vitamix blender can do.
Dash Chef Series Blender can also pulverize dry grains. If you check the demo video below, you’ll see how it can easily grind rice into flour.
Since it’s a heavy-duty machine, it also excels at thick blends. It can help you make peanut butter from scratch, nice creams, or smoothie bowls.
It’s a pretty capable high-end blender.
Is Dash Chef Blender easy to use?
To be honest, I’m not a fan of the Dash Blender’s control panel design. Apart from it looks like a rotary phone, it’s a little bit intimidating. It has plenty of buttons that will take a bit of time to figure out.
Here’s how it works.
By default, you are in manual mode. When you plug it in (while the container is on the blender base), the power button will glow red. From there, you can set the time and speed you want it to run.
You can adjust the time using the +/- button on the right side of the inner console. The blending time controls are on the opposite side.
When you’re ready, all you have to do is press the power button. The manual icon will blink, and it will blend until the timer is down to zero. By the way, you can proactively adjust the blending speed while it’s running.
If you want to take advantage of the six blending presets—rinse, puree, soup, smoothie, crush, and frozen—you need to use the turn dial. When you see the indicator blinking, again, all you have to do is press the power button.
In summary, the Dash Chef Series Digital Blender is a promising product. However, it needs to improve the control panel design with something more user-friendly.
The other thing about this machine is the detachable parts aren’t dishwasher safe. Thankfully it has an auto-cleaning preset. Just fill the container halfway through with warm water with a few drops of dishwashing soap, then engage the auto-cleaning mode. Then, all that’s left is to give it a good rinse.
