Manual Cool Down
I love the manual cool-down function. Just press and hold the fan button for 3 seconds to instantly cool the interior and exterior of the air fryer. Not only does this make it even faster to clean up after dinner, but it also allows you to quickly decrease the temperature when cooking multiple dishes one after the other at different temperatures.
This is not a typical feature of air fryers.
Easy Monitoring of Recipes
I love that the clear glass French doors and interior light make it easy to see what I’m cooking or baking and to adjust appropriately. There’s even a cancel button that turns off the air fryer mid-cycle by pressing for 3 seconds just in case something cooks faster than expected.
24 Cooking Programs/Presets
You can set the time and temperature manually for any recipe. Still, the 24 cooking preset programs are great ways to save time and remove the guesswork of converting conventional oven recipes to a convection oven experience, which is all an air fryer really is.
The presets on the Emeril Lagasse French Door Air Fryer work just about as well as any convection countertop air fryer oven. Choosing the appropriate button for your recipe will result in evenly cooked, safe, and ready-to-eat food.

There is also a fan button to turn the fan on or off or to change the speed from high to low. This function is not available on all presets. For example, the air fry preset does not allow changes to the fan operation.

As you can see from the image above, this unit has a lot of presets. And each of the functions has multiple presets for different foods and recipes. You can even cook from frozen, with no defrosting required.
One of My Favorite Appliance Cookbooks
This can get confusing, but The Emeril Lagasse 26 Qt Extra Large Air Fryer includes a cookbook with 20 FREE recipes. I have tried several myself, and they are outstanding. The cookbook also teaches you how to adapt existing recipes in the air fryer.
This helps eliminate a lot of trial-and-error. The recipe book and quick start guide will make your first-time use go as smoothly as possible.
Not As Large As Advertised
26-quart doesn’t reflect its actual capacity. It can fit 6-pound chicken or a 12-inch pizza. And thanks to its overall size, it still has excellent airflow for whole chicken recipes, unlike smaller air fryers.
However, the crisper tray only fits ~5 servings for specific recipes. It’s still substantial but certainly nowhere near “26 quarts.”
Thus, if you’re looking for a larger air fryer, consider Cuisinart Large AirFryer Toaster Oven or Ninja DT251.
More Caveats
The drip tray is under the heating element so that juicy recipes create a smoky experience similar to PowerXL Air Fryer Grill.
Simultaneously, the design of the bottom heating element could be better for grilling. Unlike genuine indoor grills such as Ninja Foodi Smart XL Pro Grill, it won’t result in even and fast cooking.
In fact, some brands have a unique take on their bottom heating element. For example, Instant Omni Plus utilizes infrared heating for better results. Secondly, Cosori Dual Blaze has an even heat distribution thanks to its M-shaped bottom heating element.
Fortunately, the heating element’s design is still advantageous for the overall experience of the Emeril Lagasse French Door Air Fryer. You can easily and quickly whip up dinner on a busy night.
Is Emeril Lagasse French Door Air Fryer 360 easy to use?
Let’s start this section by talking about the elephant in the room. Is the French door design easier to use?
I experienced using a French door oven for over a year in a commercial setting (back in the day). There isn’t a significant advantage over the traditional dropdown design. (Though it’s undoubtedly better than the side swing door.)
That said, a French door certainly ramps up the cool factor.
French Doors Make It Easy To Monitor Cooking
The unit makes it easy to cook your meals to your desired level of doneness. No more referring back and forth between the manual, wondering if it’s too close or far away from the heating element. Just follow the markings on the door.
A halfway timer is built into the cooking programs to alert you when basting, flipping, turning, or other actions are needed during a cooking cycle.
Can Be Confusing to Learn How to Use
The process of choosing programs is complex. Instead of making the programs a button, you must use the dial to scroll through. Don’t get me wrong, a dial is fantastic for adjusting numerical values. But in this case, it’s counterproductive.
But after a couple of uses, you won’t even trouble yourself about it. Other features, like the fact that you don’t have to preheat the air fryer before placing your dinner inside, still make this air fryer one of my favorites.
How to clean Emeril Lagasse French Door 26-Qt. Air Fryer 360?
The best part is that the accessories can be cleaned through a dishwasher! As a result, your post-cleanup will be a breeze!
And since there’s a drip tray, you don’t have to worry about manually scrubbing the bottom part of the machine. The drip tray will catch any food residue, which is, again, dishwasher safe!
As for the unit itself, after cooling it down, simply wipe it with a damp cloth and you’re done!

Is Emeril Lagasse French Door Air Fryer worth it?
The Emeril Lagasse French Door 26 Qt Extra Large Air Fryer is an excellent multifunctional air frying machine. Not only does it look phenomenal, but it also has 10 main functions that will replace some of your appliances!
That said, it’s more on the premium side and does have some of the drawbacks we outlined above. So if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly version, check out the Cosori Air Fryer Max XL. It’s not similar, but it’s certainly a noteworthy and affordable air fryer.
