Twin gear juicers are great for making green juices but having one doesn’t come easy. It would normally cost between $500 to $1500 but thanks to Green Power KPE1304, owning one is now within reach. The technology behind this machine is similar to Green Star Pro’s bio-ceramic technology.
Not only does it have built-in magnets in its juicing screws but it also features a ceramic panel and magnets in its juicing bowl. Samson Brands clearly over-delivered in making sure that we’ll get the maximum nutritional value out of our juice.
Award: 2nd Best Twin Gear Juicer, Gerson Therapy Juicer (non-malignant conditions)
Unlike other brands, the coarse and fine juicing screens are already included with your purchase. No need to spend extra bucks on these accessories. The vegetable juicing screen has finer holes, perfect for processing hard produce and leafy greens.
The fruit screen, on the other hand, has bigger holes which allows the pulp to be incorporated in your juice, great for pulpy and soft fruits. Additionally, you can also use the complimentary crush screen along with other attachments for making noodles and basic food processing.

Green Power KPE1304 Features & Product Details
Is it easy to use?
This type of juice extractor is a bit complex to use. It has more parts and needs specific precautions than your standard electric juicer. The most important thing to remember is to line up your twin gears properly, otherwise, you’ll hear a weird noise and you’ll risk damaging your machine.
1.5 inch narrow feeding tube means that you’ll have to cut your produce into small chunks and it’s highly advisable to cut carrots and beets into fine strips to assist the juicing screw.
You’ll also have to interchange your juicing screens and knobs (the adjustable knob increases or decreases the pressure inside the juicing chamber) depending on the type of produce you are juicing.
The fruit screen and fruit knob are intended for processing fruits. The vegetable screen and vegetable knob are obviously for processing vegetables and leafy greens.
However, if you’re going to juice wheatgrass you’ll have to use the vegetable screen along with the fruit cap to maximize efficiency.
Is it easy to clean?
Being not dishwasher safe and having a lot of parts, this juicing machine is not that easy to clean but once you get used to it it will just take a few minutes. Since the twin gear unit is made of stainless steel, it would be ideal to wash it up right away to prevent calcium build up.
After use, remove the adjustment knob and clean the interior of the product by pouring a glass of water slowly into the feeding chute in its normal operation state, do this for five to ten seconds then proceed with disassembling the unit.
Soak all the detachable parts in warm and soapy water then clean it completely using the cleaning brush, then allow it to dry. Never ever introduce water into the body of your unit, just use a clean cloth to wipe off any residue.
Juice Quality
Triturating juicers excel in juice quality and efficiency and this machine was able to deliver that. It utilizes stainless steel juicing screws with a very narrow clearance that can crush almost all types of produce.
It rotates at slow RPM to minimize oxidation or breakdown of nutrients which is an issue with centrifugal juice makers. The bio-ceramic technology found in the twin gear unit and juicing bowl further improves the quality of the juice and prolongs its shelf life for 72 hours.
The only thing that bothers me though is it’s not BPA free.
Non-juicing functions
You can turn this juicer into an all-around kitchen aid depending on the screen attachment. You can make ice cream and sorbet, grind coffee beans, rice cakes, peanut butter, and you can also use it as a food processor.
In the manual, it says that you can grind frozen meat such as fish, beef and pork but I’m not really recommending it as it can contaminate and ruin the taste of your juice.
Juicers should be strictly for juicing. By the way, you need to remove the adjustable knob when using it for these other functions. If you’re planning on making noodles, sadly you’ll have to purchase the multi-purpose kit.
If you want additional flexibility and further improve the juice extraction efficiency of this machine, you’ll definitely need the kit. Here’s what you’ll get:
- Stainless steel multi-purpose gears
- An outlet for juice and pulp
- Outlet for pasta and noodle
- Wheatgrass screen with a stainless mesh
- Berry/soft fruit screen with holes on one side
- Pasta/noodle screen with no holes
- Nozzle for wheatgrass and tomato
- Nozzle for small pomegranate and large pomegranate
- Watermelon and Orange nozzle
- Small grape and large grape nozzle
If you got the kit, you no longer own a Green Power KPE1304 but rather you have yourself a Green Power KPE1304HG or you can also refer to it as Green Power KPE1305. Yes, adding those optional kit will transform your machine into a whole new product.
What kinds of produce can the Green Power KPE1304/1305 juice?
This juice press can process all types of produce—soft and hard produce, leafy greens, citrus fruits, beans, and nuts.
Hard produce includes asparagus, cucumber, garlic, watermelon, broccoli, celery, carrots, ginger, coconut, fennel, pumpkin, cilantro, turmeric, pear, yakon, pepper, beets, pineapple, sweet potato, bitter gourd, cauliflower, and apple.
Leafy greens include kale, moringa, collard greens, spinach, peppermint, parsley, lettuce, spring onion, brussels sprout, cabbage, wheatgrass, basil, dandelion greens, pine tree needles, and beet greens.
Citrus fruits include mandarin, lime, orange, lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine.
Using the fruit screen you can turn kiwifruit, cranberries, peach, avocado, papaya, tomato, grapes, strawberry, blackberry, mango, pomegranate and melon into a puree. Don’t expect to have a liquid consistency when juicing these items.
You can also make soy and almond milk with it as long as you soak your soy and almond nuts overnight.

Is Green Power KPE1304 worth it?
Green Power KPE1304 or Green Power KPE1305 is a powerful twin gear juicer that doesn’t break the bank. It’s equipped with the same technology that you’ll only find with Green Star juicers, and I’m talking about the bio-ceramic technology which keeps the juice fresh for about 72 hours.
Compared to Omega TWN30S, this machine is packed with more features. It’s clearly a great affordable option for those looking for a twin gear juicer.
Before checking out, please bear in mind that it has some minor disadvantages such as not being dishwasher safe, it’s not BPA free and slightly complex to operate.
If those don’t bother you, then this triturating machine could be your next juice extractor. Ohh, by the way, you can choose between a white or a black finish. I would usually go for the black one because it’s not prone to staining.
