Hurom HH Elite is has been discontinued by the manufacturer. You can head over to this page for the brand’s latest products.
Hurom HH Elite Slow Juicer is the Best Juice Extractor of 2018 due to several reasons. It’s highly compact, minimalist, BPA Free, efficient, optimum juice quality, able to mix juices, easy to use and clean, and durable.
Lastly, it can juice all types of produce ranging from soft fruits to hard veggies, citrus fruits, leafy greens including wheatgrass. Not to mention that it can also make soy and almond milk.
Now let’s get to the details of this beautiful, yet functional juicing machine.
The recipient of the Red Dot Design Award, Hurom HH Elite, was previously sold as the Hurom HU-700 Slow Juicer. It is a vertical, masticating juice extractor that has taken slow juicing to another level.
This second generation model features a contemporary design and is available in a silver finish which includes a completely redesigned BPA-free, Ultem, twin-winged auger and juicing screen, which is eight times stronger than other plastics.
The auger rotates at 43 RPM, which is half the speed of other masticating juicers on the market. As a result, the juicing power doubled, making it more efficient for processing wheatgrass.
80 RPM vertical masticating juicers fall short on processing wheatgrass and clearly, this model took care of that issue.
Another improvement is that it comes with two Ultem strainers, fine and coarse. You can use the finer one for juicing; if you want to add more pulp in your juice you can use the coarse Ultem strainer.
The coarse strainer will allow you to process softer fruits for making a puree. Once you’re done making a puree out of bananas or mangoes or whatever soft fruit you prefer, just add yogurt and other ingredients then refrigerate it or put it in the freezer to make delicious frozen treats or smoothies.
Hurom HH Slow Juicer comes with a silicon juice cap that not only allows you to create and mix delicious juice smoothies but also makes cleanup a snap. You can also create almond milk, soymilk and soup with it.
The auto-pulp lever allows you to adjust the amount of pulp you want in your juice-if any. It uses 150 watts and 120 volts of power. Even with all that power, it still operates more quietly than two people holding a regular conversation, it’s probably the most silent electric juicer in the market.
The spinning brush automatically clears the mesh juicing screen so that you can juice continuously without having to stop and remove buildup.
Pros

- Two juicing screen, fine and coarse
- 16.9 oz (500 ml) juicing chamber with silicon juice cap
- Automatic cleanup system
- Ultra super quiet operation
- Can process all types of produce
- Can process wheatgrass more efficiently than first generation upright masticating juicers

- 72 hours juice shelf life
- Plastic parts that come in contact with food are BPA free
- Continuous juicing with external pulp ejection
- Can make soy and almond milk
Cons
- Slightly expensive but the features justify it
- Narrow feeding chute requires extra preparation time, but the juice quality is a good compromise
- Masticating juicers are generally slow
Hurom HH Elite Slow Juicer Features
Is Hurom HH-Elite easy to use?
Hurom HH Elite is easy to set up once you understand where the pieces go. Cut fibrous items into pieces no larger than a half an inch. Things like celery, parsley, and kale need to be cut up before you put it down the chute.
In fact, all produce will feed through the machine-with little effort-if you cut them into smaller pieces. Drop your items into the chute at a steady pace. Gravity helps the machine self-feed as the food is sucked into the drum to be crushed by the auger.
Putting things in slowly will ensure that it does not clog.
If you experience a jam, simply turn it off. Wait for the auger to stop, and then push the reverse button to back it up. Turn it off again, and then press the on button.
Never reverse the direction of the auger until it has completely stopped rotating. If an item does not seem to want to feed into the machine, firmly use the pusher to help it catch on the auger.
When you finish juicing, close the juice cap to prevent juice from dripping onto the counter.
Is Hurom HH Slow Juicer easy to clean?
While it is simplistic to clean, the components are not dishwasher safe and everything should be washed by hand. It comes with a small cleaning brush and a large cleaning brush, which are perfect for cleaning the screen and reaching little nooks or crevices.
Before disassembling, place it next to the sink and flip the Auto-Pulp lever to the “Clean” function. Turn it on and pour water through as the wiping blades effectively scrub the pulp from the screen.
When finished, disassemble, and submerge in warm, soapy water.
Wash, rinse, and place them on the all-new drying stand (included). Take the stiff cleaning brush and scrub the juicing screen to remove any remaining pulp.
Check the pulp ejector tube for leftover pulp as well. If you are unable to wash the parts by hand, simply rinse everything, and set them aside to be washed later.
Just know that if you do not at least wash the strainer, the pulp will become stuck in the mesh screen, making cleaning more difficult. Place the mesh screen in warm, soapy water if the leftover pulp has dried on it.
Let it sit for about ten minutes before you clean it.
Juice Quality
The HH Elite series extracts juice using the patented Slow Squeezing Technology (SST) to effectively remove juice rich in flavor and nutrition by crushing and then pressing the pulp against the juicing screen at the slow speed of only 43 RPM.
This process is more delicate than previous style masticating juicers operating at 80 RPM. It does not generate heat or increase the level of oxidation as consumers experience with centrifugal juicers.
The juice is fresh, and not only tastes great, but is packed full of vitamins, enzymes, and antioxidants to help you stay healthy.
While the Hurom HH Elite Slow Juicer produces less pulp, you still might need to use a sieve to strain it for an entirely smooth drink or you can keep it if you happen to like extra fiber in your juice.
Feel free to store it in a glass container with a tight lid in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours if you have some leftover or make extra for later in the day. By being able to store it, you can also make batches to be consumed at a later time.

Is Hurom HH Elite Slow Juicer worth it?
The Hurom HH Elite Slow Juicer was once the company’s flagship product. When I started this blog years back, it was the best juicer to buy at that time. Until now, I still highly recommend it.
If you like a minimalist and capable cold press juicer, then you just found your match. Hurom HH Elite is a highly compact juicer machine that can help you make celery juice, green juices, or any particular drink.
