The Hurom HP Slow Juicer is a part of Hurom’s second-generation Personal Series. This vertical, masticating juice extractor is compact in size and fits just about anywhere on the counter. It is available in a white finish, mint green, and pink.

It not only juices well, but it has a highly attractive design!

Save Money With Alternative Color Options

Here is a pro tip on how to save money on the Hurom HP Slow Juicer: Buy it in pink or mint green. Those colors aren’t Prime-eligible on Amazon, but they do ship free. As of this writing, they are $30 less than the more popular white model.

Hurom’s patented Slow Squeeze Technology is intended to mimic the squeezing of juice by hand, thus reducing damage to the juice.

Alternatively, centrifugal juicers shred the produce rapidly, which in turn produces less juice and the least amount of nutrients. Some people like centrifugal juicers because of their speed, but slow juicers like the Hurom HP Slow Juicer make superior-tasting juice. Additionally, because slow juicers oxidize the juice less, it is more nutritious!

With this juice press, you can make celery juices, green juices, nut-based milk alternatives, and other simple juice recipes.

Hurom HP Slow Juicer Features

The Hurom HP has an intelligent and sleek-looking design that is packed with features that make it one of the best small slow juicers available.

Twin Wing 43 RPM Auger

The Auger features both ABS plastic and stainless steel components and runs at just 43 RPM. This is a very slow juicer, indeed. It is important not to rush using this juicer, as it will clog if you do so. However, the slow RPMs mean that you get high-quality juice similar to hand squeezing, particularly with softer produce.

The low RPMs also mean that this is one of the quietest juicers on the market, testing at less than 60 decibels even when juicing the densest produce.

No-Drip Juice Cap

The no-drip juice cap on the Hurom HP Slow Juicer is similar to other small juicers. It allows you to juice multiple types of produce and have them mixed together for a delicious result. The no-drip juice cap works best when using the 200 ml Juicing container that comes with the appliance.

Spinning Brush

There is a spinning brush that operates inside the juicing screen to sweep away the pulp and push the produce through the screen. This brush is so effective that when you take apart your Hurom HP Slow Juicer to clean it, there will be very little pulp to clean away from the screen. It spins at just 43 RPMs, the same as the auger.

Safety Features

There are several safety features that make this juicer ideal for families. The chute opening is designed to prevent small fingers from getting inside the juicer. Meanwhile, if the juicer isn’t put together properly, it won’t turn on. This might seem like it would be frustrating, but indicators on the juicer parts make it easy to put together correctly.

What’s in the Box?

The Hurom HP Slow Juicer comes with everything you need to get started. In fact, there are no additional accessories available for this juicer – everything comes with it.

Pusher

There is a pusher that comes with the Hurom HP Slow Juicer but it should be used sparingly. Forcing your ingredients through the juicer will result in jamming. Although slow, this juicer is powerful enough to tear through just about any produce you throw at it, and the pusher is largely unnecessary.

Fine Strainer

The fine strainer should be used with dense produce or when you want very little pulp in your juice, such as when making apple juice. This is the strainer to use when juicing celery, carrots, and other dense produce.

Coarse Strainer

The coarse strainer is provided to allow more pulp in your juice, or for juicing softer produce such as citrus and berries. You also want to use the coarse strainer when you are juicing leafy greens.

Your juicer also comes with:

  • Hopper and Lid
  • Chamber
  • Pulp container
  • Juice container
  • Spinning brush
  • Large and small cleaning brushes
  • Twin wing auger
  • Manual and recipe book

Is Hurom HP easy to use?

The Hurom HP Juicer is quick and easy to assemble after a couple of attempts. However, it is slightly heavier, weighing 15.9 pounds (7.2 kilograms).

Therefore, I recommend setting it up in a single spot on your kitchen counter and leaving it there, unless you do not mind picking it up every time you want to use it.

As mentioned previously, this juicer has an excellent design. So you won’t mind leaving it out on your countertop.

As with all vertical slow juicers, it utilizes gravity to encourage self-feeding. To ensure steady juicing, prepare your items prior to juicing. The feed chute is smaller to prevent fingers from entering and getting caught on the auger wings.

Cut everything up into thinner and smaller pieces. If you are juicing items like celery, then chop them into pieces no longer than an inch. The long fibrous pieces might get caught up in the auger.

If you place your items in at a steady pace, then you should not encounter any issues with the jamming of the machine. If you experience a jam, then turn it off, and reverse the machine to force the produce in the opposite direction.

Use the pusher to gently help your items catch on the auger wings. If you feel like mixing juices within the chamber, simply close the cap and allow it to mix inside before allowing it to pour out into the juice container.

Is Hurom HP easy to clean?

The best way to clean Hurom HP components is by hand. The spinning brush clears away the pulp from the juicing strainer as it juices and also if you fill it with water while it operates.

Small and large cleaning brushes are included with the juicer to make cleaning a little easier. These brushes make reaching small crevices a breeze. Disassemble the parts and submerge them in warm, soapy water. Use the brushes to scrub off the excess pulp from the juice strainer. Clear the pulp ejector of any leftover pulp and rinse the components clean.

It’s always a good idea to wash your juicer machine right away to prevent residue build-up.

Juice Quality

Even though this model does not hold the same volume of liquid as the other models, the Hurom HP Slow Juicer extracts high-quality juice using Hurom’s patented Slow Squeezing Technology (SST). The auger breaks down the produce by squeezing and pressing it against the juicing screen.

Unlike centrifugal juicers that expel wet pulp, it removes the highest possible quantity of juice, leaving behind extremely dry pulp. The other major difference is that there is minimal oxidation because Hurom’s juicers have been optimized for taste throughout the years.

It is also packed with antioxidants, phytonutrients, and vitamins. It may have some pulp content, but it can be easily strained out with a sieve.

Juice extracted from a cold press juicer can be stored for up to 72 hours in the refrigerator. You can use glass, stainless steel, or plastic containers. Fill the container almost the entire way to the top, then seal it with a tight lid.

What kinds of produce can Hurom HP juice?

This juice press can process all types of produce—dense produce, citruses, leafy greens, and some beans and nuts.

Dense produce includes pear, beets, apple, sweet potato, asparagus, carrots, pepper, celery, cucumber, fennel, ginger, coconut, garlic, yakon, turmeric, cauliflower, bitter gourd, watermelon, broccoli, cilantro, pumpkin, pineapple.

Leafy greens include dandelion greens, pine tree needles, parsley, cabbage, spinach, brussels sprout, lettuce, beet greens, basil, peppermint, spring onion, kale, collard greens, wheatgrass, and moringa.

Citrus fruits include tangerine, lime, orange, lemon, mandarin, and grapefruit.

You can also make soy and almond milk with it.
