The KitchenAid 2-Speed hand blender is one of the four KitchenAid home immersion blenders. It’s currently the most rated and the most affordable from their catalog.
This dual speed hand blender has been around for quite a while, yet its trend hasn’t died down. Being budget-friendly is undoubtedly one of its excellent quirks. However, that’s just one factor amongst several.
In this review, we’ll talk about the rest of the story and determine if it’s really worth it.
Before we begin, KitchenAid has newer models with more exciting features, such as the Cordless Hand Blender.

KitchenAid 2-Speed Hand Blender Features
Here’s the kicker:
Even with only two-speed levels, it can do pretty much anything that expensive ones can—from simple batters, baby food, sauces and dips, smoothies, frappes, whipped cream, frosting, and most importantly, puree the ingredients for your soup recipe.
However, without a more robust motor, it’ll take a bit of patience to get to your desired consistency. Nevertheless, most recipes only take about a minute to blend.
Also, the KitchenAid two-speed Hand Blender includes a 3-cup blending jar with ounces and cup markings. You can use this if your recipe is too small and the blades can hardly reach the mixture. To put it another way, this is an excellent accessory for simple recipes you’ll be making.
As a bonus:
The KitchenAid KHB1231 offers multiple colors that will match your kitchen aesthetics.
Ease of Use
Stick blenders are pretty straightforward, but not all are comfortable to use.
Luckily, KitchenAid 2-Speed Immersion Blender is on the good side. It has an ergonomic and soft-grip design. In short, it’s convenient to operate single-handedly.
Moreover, the Kitchenaid KHB1231 features a one-touch power button. As a safety feature it doesn’t stay on unless you hold it down.
However, the speed dial is positioned far from the main button. You have to use your other hand to switch between speed levels. With newer models, these switches were installed on opposite sides, making it a whole lot easier to use.
On another story:
All immersion blenders are easy to clean, but having a detachable blending shaft is on a new level. You can just disconnect it from the motor base, give it a quick rinse, and let your dishwasher do all the cleaning.
Additionally, the blade head is fixed to the shaft, so assembly and disassembly is a breeze. That’s just a total of two parts to deal with.
This KitchenAid hand blender has thermal protection. It will automatically stop to prevent overheating. In case that happens to you, please unplug it and let it cool down for 10 minutes.
