The Ninja BL660 belongs to the brand’s professional blender series. It has a powerful 1100 watt motor that can crush ice instantaneously and also work as a personal blender. In short, it’s a functional product with multiple applications.
Here’s the deal:
Ninja Professional BL660 is an old model that was released more than half a decade ago. The design is quite outdated, to be honest.
If you want a newer product with the same capabilities, the most up to date Ninja Professional Kitchen System would be a perfect alternative.
Otherwise, if you’re already committed to the Ninja Pro system 1100, let’s find out if it’s worth the trouble—starting with the pros and cons.

Ninja BL660 Features
Application
The Ninja Pro System 1100 is quite a capable machine considering its age in the market and its budget-friendliness.
Here are a few things that you might want to try:
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to make hot soups with the Ninja BL660 on its own. It’s not powerful enough like a Vitamix blender. If you really want to make hot piping soups with your smoothie maker, you might want to check the Ninja Foodi Cold and Hot Blender.
In addition, the Ninja Professional 1100 Watts is also not built for processing dry ingredients. Making flour with this product is a big no-no.
One thing that this product struggles with is blend quality. Despite the intimidating total crushing blade, the 72 oz. pitcher won’t yield a perfectly smooth result. The only workaround to achieve a perfect blend is to use the Nutri Ninja Cups.
Keep those in mind, and you’ll be alright.
Ease of Use
Here’s why it’s not easy to use:
Ninja Professional BL660’s Total Crushing Blades are a bit intimidating. The company made it extra safe for users, but it added an extra level of difficulty for those who are not familiar with the brand.
Here’s what I mean by that:
As a matter of fact, the Ninja made a product manual specifically for those blades. When transferring your smoothie, use the spout without removing the lid. Or, if you prefer to take the lid off, make sure to remove the Total Crushing Blades first.
Unlike traditional blenders, the blades aren’t fixed to the container. It’s sharp, so treat it with respect. Never remove the lid while blending.
Once you get used to it, making smoothies will be a piece of cake. There are just six buttons to fiddle with. There are three blending speed levels, a pulse and power button, and an option for using the single-serve cups.
So in terms of usability, we’ll give it 2/5.
Here’s the good news:
All the parts (except for the motor base) are dishwasher safe, and the base only requires a quick wipe. It has a flat control panel that isn’t prone to food debris getting stuck.
Ninja BL660 Replacement Parts & Accessories
When you purchase the Ninja Professional 1100 Watts, you’ll get a 64-ounce fluid capacity 72 oz. pitcher with lid, total crushing blades, a pair of 16oz single-serve cups with lids, and pro extractor blades.
Should you need a replacement part, you can refer to this list.
72 oz. Pitcher
This replacement pitcher for your Ninja BL660 has a maximum capacity of 64-ounce. Please don’t fill the liquid portion up to the 72-ounce line as it may overflow. If you have a big family, it can make 5-8 servings of green smoothie.
Total Crushing Blades
You’ll need this replacement blade when your old one gets dull. It’s a powerful blade that can crush ice in mere seconds. I haven’t seen any competing product with three blade levels; it’s unique to the brand.
Pro Extractor Blades
Whenever you need to use the Nutri Ninja cups, this is the blade you need. Surprisingly, this smaller blade assembly produces a smoother texture than that of the stacked blade system.
16 oz Nutri Ninja Cups
If you only need to make a protein shake for yourself, you don’t need the big pitcher. This complimentary 16-ounce cup will be the perfect container for the job. It comes with an open lid, should you decide to take it with you.
By the way, these attachments are all BPA free and dishwasher safe.

Verdict
If you’re looking for a blender that excels at crushing ice, the Ninja Professional BL660 got you covered. It’s the perfect machine for making large quantities and as well as single smoothie servings.
However, I have to warn you that this 1100-watt blender is an old product. The brand has newer and better models.
Check the Ninja BN801 if you need a countertop blender with multiple capabilities or the Ninja Smoothie Bowl Maker if you only need to make smoothies or protein shakes for yourself.
