Pro Plus vs Other Pro Models
Here is what sets the NutriBullet Pro Plus apart from the Pro 1000 and Pro 900 models:
- The Pro Plus has the most powerful motor (1200 Watts)
- It features a pulse mode
- Like the Pro 1000 model, it’s cups have a lip-ring, which makes makes drinking more comfortable
The Pro Plus, Nutribullet Pro 1000, and Nutribullet Pro 900 can make up to three servings of smoothies. But the Pro 1000 model is the most up-to-date version in the series.
Before I review the Nutribullet Pro Plus, here is a table highlighting the differences between these three products.
Pro Plus | Pro 1000 | Pro 900 |
---|---|---|
1200 Watt | 1000 Watt | 900 Watt |
Pulse Control | One Speed | One Speed |
Quieter than other models | Easy twist extraction blade added | Lip ring cup design |
Any of the three options is a fantastic choice, as are many of the Nutribullet blenders. It’s just a matter of preference. If you need the pulse feature, go for the Nutri Bullet Pro Plus. On the other hand, if you want a newer model, get the Nutribullet Pro 1000.
Nutribullet Pro Plus 1200 Features
The features of the Nutribullet Pro+ are pretty basic for an individual-use blender. There are a few things that make this blender more effective and easier to use.
Auto Shut Off
One big advantage of the Nutribullet Pro Plus is the auto shut off feature that allows you to start the blender and walk away. You can set it to blend and it will shut off automatically after 60 seconds. More on this below.
6 Cutting Blades
There are 6 cutting blades on the Nutribullet Pro Plus, compared to the 4 found on most small blenders. This is of huge help when blending leafy greens. The Nutribullet Pro Plus can pulverize just about anything, including spinach, without the stems binding on the blades or having any stringy pieces.
2 Ways to Use
There are two ways you can use the Nutribullet Pro Plus blender, blend mode and pulse mode.
Blend Mode
To engage the blend mode, simply press the cup down onto the base, then twist to engage the motor.
Blend mode includes the auto-off feature mentioned above. Set your blend speed and let it go for 60 seconds. You might need to pulse afterwards for some recipes with dense ingredients. This is also needed for leafy greens.
Pulse Mode
Pulse mode allows you to push on the container to activate the blades for short or long bursts. You can hold it down for up to 60 seconds before it shuts off as a safety feature to keep it from overloading.
The pulse mode is the feature to use if you are making a chunky salsa or for other blends that you don’t want to be fully emulsified.

What’s in the box?
The good thing about the Nutri Bullet Pro Plus is it comes with two containers. You’ll get the 32-ounce (946 ml) colossal cup and the 24-ounce (710 ml) tall cup.
You can use these cups to transport or refrigerate your smoothie, shake, or another treat. Included are lids with spouts and cup rings to hide the threads. The blade base and the main appliance are the only other components, but you can get accessories and replacement cups.
Accessories
By any chance, if you need to replace your cups or any accessories, here’s the full list of compatible accessories for this personal blender.
24 oz Tall Cup (included)
Model # NBM-U0270
You’ll get this standard 24-ounce cup with your purchase. It’s perfect for making one to two servings of smoothies. When you’re ready to drink, you can put on the lip ring for ease and comfort. And if you decide to bring your smoothie, you can seal the cup with the complimentary flip-top lid.
What can you make with Nutribullet Pro Plus?
The NutriBullet Pro Series is designed for making smoothies, but it can also perform other food processing tasks. It can also make salad dressings, sauces, nut butter, etc.
Here’s a full list of what you can do with your Nutribullet Pro Plus.
These are just the recipes you can make in the Nutribullet Pro Plus blender. The blender will completely emulsify your ingredients, so salad dressings with oil and vinegar are a breeze.
Marinades can be made smooth with the blend mode or chunky with the pulse mode. Baby food, sauces, dips, and frozen desserts may need a combination of blend and pulse modes. Thicker blends are best done on pulse using the shake and tap techniques noted below.
This blender can also make nut butter, but those thicker blends need shaking and tapping to keep them going. You can make nut butter in the Nutribullet Pro Plus, but you will put much effort into it.
Is Nutribullet Pro+ easy to use?
Personal blenders are straightforward products, and the Nutribullet Pro+ is not an exception. You’ll be a pro user in no time.
It only has two modes—blend mode and pulse mode.
Blend mode is the default mode; it’s what you need for making smoothies. When you press the cup and blade assembly down onto the power base, it will run for 1 minute. You can do this cycle up to three times or until you’re satisfied with the consistency.
But most people don’t want items like salsa emulsified. That is where the pulse mode is useful. To activate it, press the pulse button immediately after securing the vessel onto the power base.
Pro Tip
For best results, let the blade come to a complete stop between each pulse.
Once you’ve mastered those two modes, you’ll be surprised by how much you can do with your Nutribullet.
Dishwasher Safe
Regarding maintenance, all the cups and lids are top-rack dishwasher safe. The only part you’ll have to wash manually is the blade base. I use a dish brush to ensure that I get all the nooks and crannies.
Tap and Shake Techniques
I use the shake and tap techniques when processing thick recipes. The blended items will stick to the side and require shaking and/or tapping to push them back to the blade.
For the shake technique, remove the blending container and shake it to bring ingredients stuck at the top to the bottom, and loosen ingredients from the blades.
For the tap technique, gently tap the blending container on the counter or against your hand. Be careful not to tap too hard–or against the lid–as you may create a mess.
These techniques apply to making nut butter and frozen desserts as well.
See the Nutribullet Pro+ in action
Here’s an unboxing video and a quick demo of the Nutribullet Pro 1200-Watt Series.
The Nutribullet Pro Plus is a powerful personal blender that also doubles as a mini food processor. Its 1200-watt motor is capable of making smoothies, purees, sauces, and dips, as well as frozen desserts. Apart from its robust motor, the Nutribullet Pro Plus is easy to use and maintain.
32 oz Colossal Cup (included)
Model # NBM-U0271
This colossal cup is perfect for making up to three servings of smoothies in one cycle. Just like the tall cup, it comes with a lip ring for easy sipping and a flip-top lid, should you decide to drink your smoothie on the go.
FAQs
What can you blend with the Nutribullet Pro Plus?
The Pro Plus model can crush ice better than previous models, and it can handle fibrous produce like kale. Just keep in mind that this doesn’t make smoothies as, well, smooth.
What can’t you put in the Nutribullet Pro+?
Don’t put anything hot in your Nutribullet personal blenders. You should also avoid adding carbonated beverages because they will build up pressure and could break the appliance. I do not recommend making a root beer float smoothie, for example.
How long can I run my Nutribullet Pro Plus?
The Nutribullet Pro Plus is designed to be run for 40 seconds at a time. The powerful 1200 Watt motor blends quickly. The pulse feature can be used in shorter bursts.
Will the blender blades wear out over time?
The blender blade base does wear out over time. I need to replace the blade of my Nutribullet personal blenders about every 6 months.
