The NutriBullet Rx 1700 Watt blender has been around for more than half a decade. However, it’s still wildly popular today.
What made it such a hit is its walk-away blend settings—the NutriBlaster cycle and the SouperBlaster mode. The first one’s for making smoothies, and the latter is for making soups.
When you activate any of those settings, you don’t have to worry about the blending time and speed. All you have to do is put the ingredients and set the blade and cup assembly on to the power base.
If you’re interested in a much more updated model, that’s where the new Nutribullet Soup maker will come in—the Nutribullet Select. It also comes with a large capacity vented container but the motor is not on par with the RX model.
Now, let’s see if you’ll remain impressed when you read its advantages and disadvantages.
- Affordable personal blender
- Compact design
- 2.3 HP motor
- Walk-away blend settings
- Doubles as a soup maker
- Can also make nut butters, sauces, hot drinks, and cold brew coffee
- Includes three BPA-free dishwasher safe blending cups
- 1-year warranty
- Not ideal for crushing ice
- The blade base is not dishwasher safe
Nutribullet Rx Features
The brand marketed NutriBullet Rx blender as a smoothie maker and hot soup machine, but you can do a whole lot more with it. With its 2.3 HP motor, it can even make thick nut butter, baby food and brew some hot drinks.
Here’s a full list of what you can do with the Nutri Bullet RX.
*For safety reasons, please only use the SouperBlast pitcher when making hot soups. Don’t pour hot liquid directly into the cup. The SouperBlast cycle will heat the contents at a maximum temperature of 70 °C through friction heat.
Ease of Use
The NutriBullet Rx blender has two modes—the NutriBlast mode (for making smoothie), and SouperBlast mode (for making soups).
If you look at the power base, you’ll notice that there are just two buttons. There’s the power switch on the side and the main button with the NutriBullet logo at the center.
By default, when you set the cup on, it will engage the NutriBlast mode. It’s going to run continuously for 1 minute until all your ingredients are perfectly blended.
Should you need to make hot soups, all you have to do is press the center button for two seconds and wait for the light to turn red. Once it’s activated, your blender will run continuously for seven minutes until your soup is piping hot.
Here’s the thing:
Before you start using your NutriBullet, read the manual carefully. There are a lot of dos and don’ts with this product. It’s quite easy to mess things up if you don’t follow their instructions by heart.
In terms of maintenance, the only part that isn’t dishwasher safe is the blade base. All the containers and cups are dishwasher friendly.
To sum it up, usability-wise, I’m giving the NutriBullet Soup Maker 3/5. It’s designed to be a straight forward product, but you need to familiarize yourself with many gotchas.
NutriBullet Rx Blender Accessories
The good news:
Your purchase already includes all the Nutri Bullet Rx essential accessories. You’ll have the 1 liter SouperBlast pitcher, 45oz oversized cup with pitcher lid, and the 30oz short cup.
Anyhow, if you need an additional container or you need a replacement, here’s the full list of all compatible accessories for the NutriBullet 1700-Watt blender.
1L SouperBlast Pitcher (included)
This container is designed for hot soups. Don’t use any other container for hot items other than this pitcher. The vented lid prevents pressure buildup for safety reasons.
NutriBullet Rx Extractor Blade (included)
One thing that you need to remember about the this blade base is it’s not dishwasher safe. That’s why it comes with a cleaning brush.
45oz Oversized Cup (included)
This 45oz oversized Cup would perfectly compliment your NutriBullet Rx blender if you need to prepare two to four servings of smoothie. It comes with a pitcher lid for drip-free convenience.
30oz Short Cup (included)
This 30oz short cup is ideal for making one to two servings of smoothie. If you’re only preparing a smoothie for yourself and maybe for your significant other, this cup is more than enough.
Stay-Fresh Resealable Lid
If you need to bring smoothies at work or at the gym, these containers will come in handy.
When you’re filling up any of these containers, always make sure you’re not going over the maximum level. And always add liquid in all your recipes. It will be easier on your machine, plus it will make your blend more consistent.
