The upgraded features in the Omega 6006 take the 5th Generation Nutrition Center to a whole new level of juicing efficiency and durability.

I love that it is so easy to maneuver and set up. With that said, the handle is more of a “hood” style in that you simply slip your hand under the “hood” of it and lift it from the top of the machine.

If you’re curious about the classic J8006 model, check it out at Amazon.

What kinds of produce can Omega 8006 Juicer process?

This juice press can process soft and dense produce, leafy greens, citrus fruits, beans, and nuts. It’s no secret that soft fruits like oranges and pineapples have a tendency to clog horizontal masticating juicers, however.

Dense Produce

  • pepper
  • turmeric
  • pumpkin
  • coconut
  • asparagus
  • pear
  • garlic
  • ginger
  • cucumber
  • cauliflower
  • watermelon
  • apple
  • broccoli
  • celery
  • fennel

Soft Fruits

  • cranberries
  • avocado
  • melon
  • pomegranate
  • pineapple
  • tomato
  • mango
  • strawberries
  • blackberry
  • kiwifruit
  • papaya
  • grapes
  • peach

Leafy Greens

  • cilantro
  • spinach
  • cabbage
  • wheatgrass
  • moringa
  • dandelion greens
  • romaine lettuce
  • basil
  • peppermint
  • spring onion
  • lettuce
  • parsley
  • kale
  • brussels sprout
  • collard greens
  • beet greens

Citrus Fruit

  • lemon
  • tangerine
  • grapefruit
  • orange
  • mandarin
  • lime

Nut Milk

This machine can make nut milk such as soy, almond, and cashew.

Non-Juicing Functions

It can be used as a food processor to chop your meat, fish, fruits, and vegetables into fine pieces. This mincing and grinding ability allows you to prepare ingredients for marinades, salsas, soups, and sauces. However, you should not put heated items in the juicer!

It can also process soaked rice and beans producing a puree-like consistency.

Frozen Treats

If you feel like eating healthy frozen desserts, feel free to freeze your juice into ice cubes, then let the machine turn it into a cold healthy treat by adding milk, yogurt, and other ingredients to your heart’s content. To me, this makes the Omega J8006 the superior juicer, giving it functions similar to a blender.

Homogenizer

This homogenizer function can also be used to make nut butter and baby food. Homogenization makes these foods safe to store in the fridge for a longer period of time. Without this feature, you could still make baby food, but it would need to be used right away.

Noodles & Breadsticks

The complementary nozzles can be used to make pasta of varying shapes and sizes. You can choose between a round or a flat noodle. Better yet, add some flavor to your pasta to make Korean-style u-dong noodles.!

Nozzles with a larger opening can be used to form breadsticks. The bad news is you still have to prepare your dough.

Grinding Coffee Beans

With this machine, you can even grind your coffee beans for a fresh cup of java. Some coffee beans (especially gourmet coffees) have higher oil content. This has to be dried overnight for easier processing.

Juice Quality

The Omega 8006 Nutrition Center efficiently extracts the most juice and nutrients from your vegetables and fruit through Omega’s exclusive “dual stage” mastication process.

pulp filter
The pulp filter can remove some of the pulp that naturally occurs when juicing, but it won’t remove 100%.

The items pass through the drum, are crushed by the auger, and are finally squeezed against the stainless steel juicing screen. This final stage removes the remaining juice, and the pulp is automatically pushed out of the opening, passing through the opening at the end cap.

Because this extraction method is completed slowly, you end up with high-quality juice full of flavor. It also contains the most enzymes and vitamins compared to other brands of masticating juicers on the market.

In fact, most masticating juicers operate between 1650 and 15,000 RPM, but the Omega 8006 juicer operates at just 80 RPM. Because of this, juice from other masticating brands doesn’t last as long. The higher RPMs break down the fruit and oxidize it, causing it to last just 24 hours.

I recommend storing your juice in a glass container with a tight lid. It should keep for up to 72 hours.

Is Omega J8006 easy to use?

I can set up this cold press juice extractor in less than a minute. Even though this version comes with a larger food tray, you still need to cut up the pieces because the chute is no larger than the previous versions.

ends
The number of ends adds to the versatility but can confuse new users.

Another thing to remember with the Omega J8006 is that it has multiple ends and attachments that look very similar. I have to refer to the user manual whenever I process something new in my Omega juicer. There are multiple ends and accessories, and it can be difficult to tell which one to use.

The food tray is a convenient spot to place the produce as you feed it into the machine, especially since it allows for more produce. Slice your produce into smaller sections so they fit smoothly down the tube.

Use the plunger to help feed the produce into the barrel. You will need to keep a small amount of pressure on some of the items to ensure they properly catch on the auger.

Since this is a dual-stage masticator, it crushes the produce and then presses it against the stainless steel mesh juicing screen. If you really want to extract the most juice from your produce, drop the pulp back through your juicer.

Strain to remove additional pulp after the juicing is complete. If you juice a significant amount of citrus, the sieve may become clogged with pulp forcing you to clean it out in the middle of juicing.

Waiting to use the sieve will cut down on juicing time.

Is Omega 8006 easy to clean?

Once you have completed juicing, cleaning this piece of machine is a breeze. Pull the machine apart, place them under warm, soapy water, and wash. Rinse and lay everything out on a small towel to dry.

It takes less than five minutes to wash and rinse the parts. Make sure to utilize the stiff cleaning brush to remove the pulp from the juicing screen and the sieve.

It is really fantastic at removing the stuck citrus pulp. The parts of this juicing machine may be placed on the top rack of your dishwasher, but rinse them after juicing to prevent the hardening of any leftover pulp.

Is Omega 8006 Juicer worth it?

The Omega 8006 Juicer Nutrition Center comes with a powerful commercial-grade motor that juices vegetables, fruits, and leafy greens. This machine is a highly competent electric juicer that makes pasta, soy milk, nut butter, baby food, sorbets, and much more—it is versatile without compromising quality.

Nice & Quiet

Outside of the hum of the motor and the crushing or crunching of your produce, this machine operates quietly. In addition to juicing more efficiently than single-stage masticating juicers, the juicing screen has 25% more screen, covering more surface area and yielding more juice in a single pass.

Extended Warranty

The Omega juicers come with the most extended warranty among other juicer brands on the market, making them an investment. When you think about it, the Omega J8006 masticating juicer is an investment in your health.

FAQs

Can I juice leafy greens in the Omega 8006 Juicer?

Yes! You can even use this juicer to add wheatgrass to your blends. Just make sure that you don’t feed it through too quickly and use the right attachment.

How much pulp do you get in your juice?

The pulp strainer is very effective. However, it will not filter 100% of the pulp from your juice. If you want something pulp-free, your best bet is the ultra-premium PURE Juicer.

What do you use the homogenizer for?

A homogenizer is generally a piece of industrial equipment, so this is a common question. You can use the homogenizer to process fresh dairy for consumption and storage, to make nut and dairy butters, and to create specialty ingredients for the recipes you’ve always wanted to try.
