Oster started as a humble manufacturer of quality blenders. Now it has grown into a massive kitchen equipment company. At first, I’m in doubt about their juicer, but I’ve been proven wrong.
I’ve reviewed over a hundred juicers, and I can say that Oster JusSimple 5-Speed Extra-Wide Feed Chute Juice Extractor deserves Juicing Journal’s seal of approval.
Breville BJE510XL is its closest rival. It’s also a multi-speed juicer in the same price range. However, that product has been discontinued by Breville.
I’m not sure if it’s right to compare it with Breville BJE820XL as it costs more than twice as much. Well, in terms of functionality, it’s pretty much the same, but this Breville juicer is a premium product, made of premium materials.
Maybe let’s just skip this comparison and let’s discuss what makes it different from the 2-speed model.
Obviously, it has more speed settings which has a huge advantage. The dual-speed Oster juicer is only suited for juicing dense produce and citrus fruits. With more fine-grained control, this 5-speed juicer gives you the ability to process soft fruits.
- Affordable juicer
- Fast juice extraction time
- The bigger chute clearance can take larger portions of fruits and vegetables, reducing your prep time considerably.
- The five-speed setting allows you to juice more types of produce.
- Easy to clean filter basket
- Detachable parts are dishwasher safe
- BPA free components
- Large capacity pulp collector
- Comes with 32 oz juice pitcher with froth separator
- Non-drip spout with a rubber stopper
- 24-hour juice shelf life
- Smaller feeding chute in comparison to other popular centrifugal juicers
- High-speed juicers are not efficient in extracting juice from leafy greens
- Short warranty coverage
Oster JusSimple 5-Speed Features
Is it easy to use?
This Multi-Speed Oster Juicer is not different from its dual speed sibling. It’s effortless to assemble, operate and clean. You just need a total of 6 parts to put together, then you can start juicing.
The chute clearance of this machine can accommodate larger portions of fruits and vegetables. You won’t need precutting on some items such as (smaller) apples, carrots, etc., making your juicing process even faster.
Is it easy to clean?
The JusSimple 5-Speed Juice Extractor stays true to its name. It’s simple enough to use and maintain.
For most centrifugal juicers, the most challenging part of washing is the filter basket. The blades are sharp plus the mesh tends to accumulate fibers. This part requires a lot of brushing and a whole lot of attention.
Aside from being dishwasher safe, this Oster Juicer came up with a solution to address that problem—Rinse n’ Ready Filter Basket. All you need is a soft sponge and a quick rinse to clean up all those pulp and juice residues.
Oster JusSimple’s Rinse n’ Ready Filter Basket is made of solid plastic instead of a mesh. It doesn’t have crevices where fibers can get stuck.
This 5-speed oster Juicer has an average juice quality rating. It is true to all high-speed juicers due to high RPM. This fast spinning action incorporates a significant amount of oxygen into the juice, speeding up the decay of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals in it.
In simple terms, the juice produced by fast electric juicers spoils faster, having a maximum shelf life of just 24 hours. If you want to take advantage of the juice’s highest nutritional value (from this type of juicing machine), you’ll have to drink it immediately or at least within five minutes.
What kinds of produce can it juice?
The Oster JusSimple 5-Speed Juice Extractor will work best on dense produce and citrus fruits, and as well as soft fruits.
Here’s the breakdown of its speed settings:
#4 and #5 is intended for juicing the toughest fruits and vegetables—broccoli, pepper, watermelon, beets, turmeric, fennel, celery, carrots, cauliflower, pear, garlic, sweet potato, asparagus, cucumber, apple, cilantro, yakon, pumpkin, pineapple, bitter gourd, and ginger.
#3 is for citruses like lemons, oranges, mandarin, grapefruit, tangerine, and lime.
The lowest speed setting #1 and #2 are ideal for pureeing soft fruits such as berries, mangoes, grapes, kiwifruit, tomato, papaya, peach, pomegranate, melon, and avocadoes.
Fast juice extractors are not ideal for juicing leafy greens as it won’t yield as much as cold press juicers. However, if you really want to make green juices with the Oster JusSimple, you can sandwich your leafy vegetables between produce with high water content such as cucumber, apples, carrots, etc.

Is Oster JusSimple 5-Speed worth it?
Oster JusSimple 5-Speed Centrifugal Juice Extractor is a perfect match for beginners and experienced juicers alike. It can process dense produce, citruses, soft fruits, and even leafy greens, to some degree. It’s not the best juicer for making green juices, but you can still make a great selection of juice recipes out of it.
