Power XL Classic Air Fryer, Black
Power XL Classic Air Fryer, black

The Power XL Classic Air Fryer, as the title suggests, is a special edition from the brand.

You might be wondering, what makes it special?

That’s what we’ll find out in this review. Or simply to answer, is the PowerXL Classic Air Fryer even worth your money?

For now, get this…

The “classic” in the name highlights the egg-shaped design of this air fryer. As a result, your machine has excellent airflow to evenly and adequately cook your meals.

I guess that’s not a bad start, right?

With that said, let’s explore its pros and cons.

PROS

  • Affordable
  • Contemporary design
  • 7 Automatic presets
  • Touchscreen control panel
  • Basket air fryer design has the best usability
  • 3 options: 4, 5, or 7-quart capacity
  • Only the fry tray is dishwasher safe
  • BPA free
  • 1-year replacement guarantee

CONS

  • Requires a significant space
  • The basket isn’t easy to clean, unlike other models
  • Not removable basket
  • It gets hot (make sure you place it on top of something that’s heat-safe)
  • The vent is at the bottom, which sometimes leads to spills

What can you cook in a Power XL Classic Air Fryer?

You can create numerous recipes on your PowerXL Classic Air Fryer. To put it in perspective, it’s an excellent appliance for air frying, broiling, baking, roasting, and reheating.

As if that’s not enough, it’s also equipped with these automatic programs.

fries
Fries
broiled chicken
Chicken

Steak

Essentially these presets will make your work easier since they already decide the temperature and duration of your recipe.

Naturally, you can personalize the temp and time to your liking, given that not all recipes are the same.

Now:

Thanks to its classic egg shape, the air flows well in this machine. You’ll be sure that your meal will cook nicely. Just remember to flip or shake your food halfway to ensure that your meal will be cooked more evenly.

Here’s the best part:

The Power XL Classic Air Fryer includes a recipe book to get you started. Here are my suggested recipes you should try:

  • The good old chicken tenders
  • Mac and cheese balls
  • Honey-roasted salmon

Plus, considering that they’re easy-to-follow recipes, you’ll spend less time in the kitchen and more time with your family!

Is PowerXL Classic Air Fryer easy to use?

Here’s the deal:

The controls are in the gray area for me. It looks nice and simple but not as intuitive as other air fryers. Therefore, make sure to read the instruction manual thoroughly.

Power XL Classic Air Fryer controls

Essentially, the air fryer uses icons instead of texts unlike Instant Vortex Plus 6-In-1 Air Fryer, which isn’t a bad thing per se.

However, it can be pretty confusing at first. For instance, to choose an automatic program, you must repeatedly press the “M” button until your desired program lights up. (It’s like pressing next on the remote.) A better approach would have been to make the presets “pressable.”

Again, this is only a minor issue. Besides, you won’t even remember this problem once you’re used to the PowerXL Classic Air Fryer.

If anything, the presets make this air fryer easier to use since you don’t have to worry about the guesswork.

Here’s the major deal-breaker:

The basket isn’t removable. Not to mention, it’s also suggested NOT to turn the basket upside down to prevent the oil from leaking. In other words, removing contents from the basket will be cumbersome, especially if you’re cooking large quantities such as fries.

On that note, cleaning the basket will also be a challenging task. To make things worse, only the fry tray is dishwasher safe.

Don’t take my word for it; Here’s a lengthy video demonstration from QVCtv.

The Power XL Classic Air Fryer Maxx Special Edition is a sleek-looking air frying machine. There are three choices for capacities: 4-quart, 5-quart, and 7-quart. Not to mention, it has 7 presets for easier usability in addition to a sleek control panel.

I highly recommend the Power XL Classic Air Fryer 5 Qt out of these three choices since it’s the best of both worlds. It won’t consume too much space on your countertop, yet it still has all the 7 cooking presets to make cooking easier for you.

Is Power XL Classic Air Fryer worth it?

To be honest, the primary deal-breaker for the PowerXL Classic Air Fryer is the design of the basket and the vent. In short, this air fryer isn’t worth your money.

Luckily, you can have better air frying machines without those flaws, such as:
