Oddly enough, the drip tray is below the heating elements. So, the grease drips on the heating coils, causing the Power XL Grill Air Fryer to smoke.
The solution?
Use the baking tray instead. But if you plan to use the rotisserie spit, you have to limit the size of the chicken to about 3 lbs or less. Furthermore, there are also guidelines on types of oil for a virtually smokeless experience.
Generally, you should use high smoke point oils (especially when grilling) such as canola, coconut, avocado, vegetable, or grapeseed oil. Other common oils, such as olive oil, will undoubtedly produce more smoke.
The Grill function works best with the non-stick Grill plate. The oven produces heat from the top and bottom heating elements when you use the grill function. Therefore, your grilled foods will cook faster.
Say, for example, you want to grill pork chops. Turn the function knob to the Grill function. Adjust the time and temperature using the turn dials. Next, place your pork chops on the Grill Plate. Then, insert the Plate into the 2nd to the last tray position (Position 5).
But remember this:
Watch that the oil won’t build up on the grill plate. You have to drain the excess grease in a container to prevent oil spillage.

The controls are straightforward, and you’ll find three knobs on the right side of the oven.
First, you can adjust the Temperature Dial from 200°F (93ªC) to 450°F (232ºC). Simultaneously, it has darkness levels for toast, so there is no need to guess the best temperature for your perfect toast. It’s already given!
The next dial is the Function Knob. This knob allows you to choose the presets or cooking function. The last control dial is the Time Knob which can be changed from 1 to 120 minutes.

Here’s the deal:
It’s cumbersome to cook something for less than 20 minutes. Given that you have to go past 20 minutes, then readjust accordingly. Modern toaster ovens or grills don’t need something like that. In short, it’s an unnecessary action.
Anyway:
This Power XL Grill Air Fryer is an oven-type air fryer with a pull-down door and a viewing window. You can watch the cooking progress without opening the door every so often. Plus, its power light activates during cooking. When the timer is up, a bell will ring, then the light will turn off by itself.

Is Power XL Air Fryer Grill easy to clean?
The simple truth is the parts and accessories are not dishwasher safe, so it’s recommended to hand wash them instead. Apart from that, clean-up is still a piece of cake.
Mind that the air PowerXL Air Fryer Grill is thoroughly cooled before cleaning. You can clean the outside surface of the appliance with a damp cloth. Be gentle along the marking around the dials as this rubs off over time.
The oven door can be cleaned by lightly scrubbing both the inner and outer sides with warm, soapy water and a damp cloth.
The interior wall of the unit can be maintained by wiping it with a non-abrasive sponge, hot water, and a mild detergent. You must avoid scrubbing the heating coils because they’re delicate and may crack. Then, dry the interior thoroughly with a clean cloth.

As the name suggests, it’s a grill, right? Well, not quite.
Comparing the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill Deluxe to other indoor grills looks more like a countertop toaster oven. It’s also true function-wise.
For instance, the lower heating element isn’t as significant. Therefore, grilling will have uneven results.
Secondly, grilling requires flipping halfway. What makes indoor grills great is that you can simply pull up the lid and use your tongs or spatula to flip your food. Most of the time, you don’t even need oven mitts which is undoubtedly more straightforward.
With this type of “grill,” you have to open the door and use oven mitts to pull the tray out. Then, you can flip your food. That certainly requires more work than authentic indoor grills.
Of course, as an air fryer or toaster oven for that matter, it’s sufficient.
