SKG 2080 Series Big Mouth Vertical Slow Juicer
SKG 2080 Series Big Mouth Vertical Slow Juicer

The SKG 2080 Juicer is currently unavailable. For a similar alternative, you might want to check these best rated juicers.

At first, I’m in doubt if I should review the SKG 2080 Big Mouth Vertical Slow Juicer. But, to complete the roster of SKG juicing machines, I just went with it anyway. I’m not disappointed with it, but it’s not on the level of the previous SKG juice extractors that I have reviewed.

Compared to the SKG Q8 and the SKG A10, the SKG 2080 has a single and smaller chute. The company says that the opening has a diameter of 3 inches, but when you do the math, it’s actually 2.95 inches.

You may find it insignificant, however, that makes it unable to take in bigger apples. This is the reason why I’m not classifying it as a whole slow juicer.

Though the chute isn’t big enough, it still has its advantages. You will be able to process more fruits and vegetables in one go, and those portions don’t have to be small pieces like what you do with a standard vertical slow juicer. Somehow, it will speed up the whole juicing process.

  • Affordable than the competition
  • Smaller footprint
  • It can process leafy greens, dense produce, and your favorite citruses
  • 72 hours of juice shelf life
  • Larger chute opening, almost 3 inches
  • Silent operation
  • Equipped with juicing cap for mixing juices
  • BPA free components

  • Not dishwasher safe
  • It’s not designed for making soymilk
  • Pureeing soft fruits is also not possible with the SKG 2080
  • Some customers point out that it produces a slightly pulpy juice. You might need a sieve at hand if you don’t fancy fibers in your drink.
  • Short warranty coverage of just two years.

Features & Product Details

Is it easy to use?

The SKG 2080 is just like any standard vertical slow juicer. It has a broader chute, but everything else is pretty much the same. Operating this machine is relatively effortless. You just need to put together a total of five parts, then you can get started juicing.

Since the channel is a tad bigger, larger portions of fruits and veggies will do just fine. This added convenience will save you a lot of time. However, based on several reviews, it produces a pulpy juice. You might want to have a sieve on standby if you decided to go for this juice extractor.

Is it easy to clean?

Unlike other SKG Juicers that I have reviewed, this particular product doesn’t have a dual chute system. It doesn’t have a sophisticated top set with hard to reach crevices. I’m not saying that it’s easy to clean as you still have to deal with the large filter basket.

In a broad sense, this type of juicer is a little challenging to clean. However, it will just take five minutes of your time at the very least. Washing your juicer right after every use is highly advisable.

Juice Quality

The byproduct of a cold press juice maker like the SKG 2080 is a nutrient-rich glass of goodness. It doesn’t disappoint when it comes to juice quality. All thanks to its low RPM motor which keeps oxidation at minimal levels.

This feat results in a full-bodied juice which has a longer shelf life. Compared to drinks extracted by centrifugal juicers, which will only last for 24 hours, cold-pressed juice can be stored for up to 3 days.

What Kinds of Produce Can SKG 2080 Juice?

This juice press can take on a wide selection of fruits and veggies, perfect for basic drinks and green juices.

In can process dense and water-filled produce such as celery, cucumber, watermelon, apple, pepper, pineapple, asparagus, turmeric, fennel, sweet potato, cauliflower, ginger, beets, carrots, pear, and yakon.

Though the chute is large, you still need to chop these items into manageable sizes. The SKG 2080 Juicer is not designed for juicing whole fruits and vegetables.

It can also juice citruses like oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit with ease. The rinds, peel, and seeds should be removed for a better tasting drink.

This cold press juicer is also built for making healthy green juices. So, feel free to drop any leafy greens you’d like down the juicing chamber.

If you’re wondering if it can make soymilk or almond milk or any other non-dairy milk alternative, this is probably its limitation. It’s also not built for pureeing soft mushy fruits like banana, papaya, avocado, and the likes.

Is SKG 2080 worth it?

If you’re in the market for a standard vertical slow juicer, the SKG 2080 Wide Chute Vertical Slow Juice Extractor is worth looking at. It’s more affordable compared to top brands but offers a superior juicing power.
