Just because the name of the recipe is “spring green smoothie,” doesn’t mean it’s just for spring.
Kidding aside, this green smoothie is one of my favorites.
Compared to other Vitamix Smoothie Recipes that I’ve tried, the Spring Green Smoothie is the most complicated and the most flavorful. However, complicated is a bit of a stretch, rather it has numerous ingredients.
Given its delightful end result, you should definitely try this recipe!
How to make the Spring Green Smoothie?
Just like any recipe, prep the ingredients first.
Start by adding the water and green grapes. Then, prep the lemon and orange by peeling them and removing the seeds. If possible, use seedless fruits as it’ll be easier to prepare.
Next, is to roughly chop the cucumber. You don’t have to remove the rind for this one. The same goes to the apple, except that you have to remove the seeds first.
Add these ingredients to the blender.
For the kale and parsley, just remove the fibrous stems. If you’re going to use ready-to-use spring greens mix, that’ll be quicker. Afterward, top it with frozen pineapple chunks and ice cubes.
Finally, secure the lid and blend until smooth.
Just so you know, this is ideal for blenders with 64-ounce (or bigger) capacity. If you also want a smooth consistency, a Vitamix blender or any powerful blender is ideal for that.
Substitutions and Add-ins
For the green grapes, you can alternatively use strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or red grapes. Similarly, you can sub green apple with red apple (naturally), peaches, and pears.
For the veggies, any greens that you have will be just fine. For instance, I used spinach mainly to substitute for spring greens mix instead of going to the grocery store.
Most importantly? Don’t forget to swap your greens every now and then!
For garnish, you can use a ring-slice cucumber or lemon. You can even use cute-looking parsley leaves.
Furthermore, you can add in a superfood smoothie booster of your choice.
