The Easiest Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Foodie blogs (particularly with smoothies) will not be complete without the most straightforward strawberry banana smoothie recipe.

If your city or town has a smoothie bar, chances are they have a strawberry banana smoothie. Even McDonald’s has one (depending on where you are).

The reason for its popularity is its simplicity and rich flavor.

So, without further ado, let’s blend it!

How to make the Strawberry Banana Smoothie?

The typical ratio I use is 2:1:1, strawberries, bananas, and milk, respectively. It’s not really a universal rule. In fact, it’s more of a guideline than a rule, so feel free to break it.

For instance, instead of milk, you can use ½ milk and ½ water. Or, you can also use coconut water or milk and other nut milk of your choice.

Now:

After pouring the liquid base to your strawberry banana smoothie, add the fruits. If you want a cold smoothie, try using frozen fruits (either one but not both). Otherwise, just add ice. Note that if you use ice, it might dilute the flavor a little bit.

If you’re going to use more bananas, you might want to increase your liquid base. Bananas make the smoothie thicker, so it’ll be a smoothie bowl rather than a drink if it gets too thick.

Once you’ve added all the ingredients, blend for 45 seconds or until smooth. Any blender will be good enough for the strawberry banana smoothie. But, a Vitamix blender or a powerful blender is ideal for a smooth consistency.

Just so you know, you can add greens if you want. The color will be different, but it will still taste good as long as the fruits are the main components.

Add-ins

I don’t recommend adding a sweetener, given that both fruits are already sweet.

For more nutritional value, you can add superfoods such as flaxseeds, goji berries, chia seeds, etc. You can either add it on top or blend it in.
