Strawberry Kiwi Spinach Smoothie

Even if the strawberry kiwi spinach smoothie isn’t as appealing as other recipes, it’s still flavorful.

To be honest, I was also surprised by how it turned out.

Strawberry bananas are certainly a good fit, but adding kiwi to the mix is new for me.

In any case, this should be a straightforward recipe so, shall we blend it?

How to make the Strawberry Kiwi Spinach Smoothie?

Here’s the kicker:

I actually utilized a ready-to-use frozen fruit for this. I did have fresh strawberries and bananas on hand, but not the kiwi. So, I figured, I wonder how this will taste in my usual green smoothie.

Considering that I posted this smoothie recipe here, I’m pretty sure you already know the answer to that.

Now:

Start by adding the liquid base of your choosing. Then, extract the lemon juice into the blender. Since the fruits of the strawberry kiwi spinach smoothie are already flavor-rich, these two liquids kind of balances everything out.

Next, add 1 cup of loosely packed spinach. Then, blend for 45 seconds to 1 minute at the highest speed.

Here’s the deal:

It works better when you add the chia seeds while blending. Otherwise, it will get scattered, stick to the sides, and remain unblended.

You can also soak it for 15-30 minutes to give it a chewier texture. Even finer, you can decide to use the chia as a garnish for the strawberry kiwi spinach smoothie instead of blending it in.

Tips and Substitutions

As per usual, you can use any greens other than spinach. Perhaps kale, lettuce, or maybe even broccoli? Nonetheless, it’s only secondary, so it won’t be the dominant flavor in this smoothie.

For the lemon, you can use lime as well. Other citruses may work, yet fruits like orange will add more sweetness to the strawberry kiwi spinach smoothie.

Here’s the best one yet:

You can reduce the number of strawberries and add more spinach to make it a more vibrant green smoothie. Simply adjust the flavor and color to your liking.

The Strawberry Kiwi Spinach Smoothie is a fantastic healthy and refreshing drink. Despite having that unappealing color, its flavor says otherwise. All it takes is one sip, and you’ll see what I mean.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water

  • ½ lemon worth of juice

  • 1 cup spinach

  • 2 cups of the frozen fruits (strawberries, kiwi, banana)

  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

Directions

  • Wash and prepare your fresh ingredients.
  • In the order of the components, place them one by one (except chia) into your blender and secure the lid.
  • If you have an automatic smoothie setting, use that. If not, start on the lowest speed and ramp up to the max power.
  • While blending, add the chia seeds.
  • Blend for 45 seconds or until your desired texture is achieved (depending on your blender’s power).
