Tribest GreenStar GS Series, white

Highly rated around the world, GreenStar GS Series is Tribest’s first generation triturating juicer. It’s comprised of the exclusive heavy duty twin gear technology extracting juice from your produce at 110 RPM.

Centrifugal juicers destroy higher amounts of nutrients. This is due to high RPM which pushes oxygen into the juice and generates heat. The GS Series utilizes magnetic and bio-ceramic technology.

This feature along with slowly rotating gears minimize the loss of pertinent enzymes, vitamins, and antioxidants.

This twin gear juicer is offered in three variants—the GS-1000, GS-2000, and GS-3000. The only difference between three is the complimentary attachments. This comparison chart explains it all.

Pros

  • Slow 110 RPM plus the combination of magnetism further minimizes oxidation which in turn maximizes the nutritional value of your juice
  • 4/1000 clearance between the gears produce the driest pulp
  • Works very well with leafy greens especially wheatgrass
  • It’s a Gerson therapy juicer for non-malignant conditions
  • 72 hours juice shelf life
  • Quiet operation
  • Juices almost all fruits and veggies
  • Non-juicing functions for homogenizing, and pasta making depending on the product model you’ve purchased
  • Quiet operation
  • Detachable parts are top rack dishwasher safe
  • One-step continuous juicing with automatic pulp ejection
  • Neatly hidden cord storage
  • Built with a handle for easy transport

Cons

  • I haven’t verified this with the manufacturer but I think the plastic used was not BPA free. I’ve already checked every possible website, I just couldn’t find any information if this is BPA free or not.
  • Twin gear juicers are typically slow
  • Narrow chute requires chopping your produce into fine pieces making your juicing process even slower
  • Too heavy, the full set weighs almost 26 lbs
  • 5-year warranty seems pretty short for the price of this machine

GreenStar GS Series Features & Product Details

Is it easy to use?

This juicing machine has a lot of moving parts that you will need to become familiar with when you set it up the first few times. Please note: when putting the gears together, you need to be absolutely certain to line up the dots of the gears to form a triangle before placing them into the gear housing.

If you attempt to run the juicer with the gears improperly lined up, you will most definitely damage them. It has a smaller feed chute opening. You will need to cut up your produce prior to juicing in order to fit them down the chute.

The twin gears literally suck items like wheatgrass or leafy greens down into the juicer through tearing or “biting” the produce a little at a time. However, harder produce will need pressure from the plunger to help push it into the gears.

The short answer is it’s not that easy to use.

Is GreenStar GS Series easy to clean?

The components of this juice extractor are not dishwasher safe. You need to wash everything by hand. After unplugging, place the cord back into the storage compartment. Again, it has more parts to clean but essentially should not take longer than 5 to 10 minutes to clean.

Take everything apart, and submerge them in hot, soapy water. Clean the juicing screen with the cleaning brush to remove leftover pulp. Sometimes the area between the gear housing and the juicer will gather bits of pulp.

Simply use a rag or a sponge to wipe it—and the rest of the base—clean of any drops of juice or remaining pulp. Allow the parts to dry completely before reassembling the juicer.

Juice Quality

Being a triturating juicer, it uses twin gears with bio-magnetic technology to slowly extricate juice full of healthy nutrients and enzymes. As a result of the complete masticating process, the juicer limits oxidation, which in turn produces a higher quality juice that is not only better for you but is also richer and fuller in taste.

The juice yield is far more than with centrifugal and single gear masticating juicers. This type of juicer is ideal for when you would like to make large batches of juice at a time.

The juice can be kept fresh by storing it in a container with a tight lid in the refrigerator without experiencing any degradation in quality or taste for up to 72 hours.

Non-Juicing Functions

This juicer is also homogenizer and pasta maker, provided that you have the necessary attachments. The complimentary homogenizing blank transforms your Green Star juicer into a basic food processor for making sauces, nut butter, baby food, and frozen fruit desserts.

You can make soy and almond milk using the same blank screen as well. Pasta and breadstick attachment is only available for the GS-3000 model, if you don’t have it you’ll have to purchase it separately.

You can select from two shapes for your pasta. Use the breadstick blank and the breadstick guide for making bread sticks, bagels and rice cake (mochi).

What’s the difference between Green Star Twin Gear Juicers?

This juice extractor works similarly to Green Star Elite and GS Series. Just in case you get confused with Green Star’s twin gear juicer line up, here’s a table that you can refer to.

Is GreenStar GS worth it?

Many electric juicers struggle with processing straight wheatgrass and leafy greens unless you alternate them with denser produce. However, with the Tribest Green Star GS Series, it easily juices fibrous foods—even produce like celery.

With this juice maker, you can place an entire celery stalk down the chute without worrying that it is going to get caught up in the machine. One downside is the high priced, and you’ll have to purchase separate attachments to perform some of its extra functions if you got the basic model.

Additionally, the warranty for this machine is only five years, which many individuals would deem rather short, especially considering the price. Nevertheless, it really is one of the best juicers on the market, especially for individuals that will be juicing large quantities of leafy greens.

If you are looking for the freshest juice with the maximum amount of nutrients, consider making an investment in your health with the Green Star GS-1000, GS-2000, or the GS-3000 model if you want both the coarse juicing screen and the pasta making function.
