The bar was set high for Tribest Slowstar Juicer & Mincer. Just like my review of the Solo Star juicer, I had high hopes for this Tribest Life product. After gathering all the facts, it got its well-deserved seal of approval.
It doesn’t come without compromise, though, as there’s one part that it doesn’t perform well. It’s not easy to clean. You’ll find all the details about this below.
For now, let’s compare this electric juicer to its closest rivals.
Hurom is the undisputed leader in this category, and the perfect candidate for this match is Hurom HH Elite. It’s also worth comparing to Omega’s VSJ843 Series. All of these juicers are in the same ballpark as the Slowstar Juicer, with comparably similar juicing ability.
I’m not seeing any difference in terms of juice extraction efficiency and nutrient retention with all these vertical slow juicers. This section is well, a tie for Omega, Hurom and Tribest Life.
The mincer attachment sets the Tribest Slowstar Juicer apart from its rivals. Though it’s in the same price range as other competing models I mentioned above, it has a lot more to offer. The extra mincer top set will give your juicer more food processing ability aside from extracting juice from fruits and veggies.
- Compact design
- Can handle all types of fruits and vegetables
- You can also make non-dairy milk alternatives with it out of soaked soybeans and almond nuts
- At 47 RPM, it has more juice extraction power than standard 80 RPM cold press juicers
- Its double-edged blade auger design made it less prone to jamming and even more efficient
- 72 hours of juice shelf life
- Includes a mincing top set for extra food processing functions
- Quiet operation
- BPA free components
- Equipped with a juice cap which prevents leaks and drips
- 10-year warranty
- Not dishwasher safe
- Small feeding chute requires a decent amount of prep time
- Cold press juicer like this product is generally slow
Tribest Slowstar Juicer Features
Is it easy to use?
Tribest Slow Star is a very straightforward product. Vertical slow juicers like this one excel in terms of usability. It’s a compact juicer with just small parts to assemble and operate.
All in all, you just need a total of 6 parts to put together. These include the motor base, auger housing, auger, juicing screen, pulp wiping assembly, and the auger housing lid with hopper. Then, you just need to position the juice and pulp container below its respective outlets.
Is it easy to clean?
Tribest Slowstar Vertical Slow Juicer is a little challenging to maintain, and here’s why.
- It’s not dishwasher safe, there’s no other choice but to wash it manually.
- The juicing screen can accumulate fibers. You’ll probably spend the most time cleaning this part.
- There are a few silicone parts that you need to pay close attention to—the wiping blade, sealing ring, and pressure plug. You need to take these parts off, wash thoroughly and dry. These silicone components can accumulate molds if not cleaned properly.
After all the parts have dried out, your juicer is ready for assembly and finally, storage.

Don’t take my word for it, watch this official product video of Tribest:
The Tribest SlowStar Juicer doesn’t disappoint in this department. When we’re talking about its juice yield, it’s very close to horizontal masticating juicers producing bone dry pulp during the juicing process.
In terms of nutrient retention, it’s on par with the top cold press juicers in the market. Since its motor revolves slowly, 47 RPM to be exact, oxidation happens at a minimal level. This means that your juice will stay fresh and full of nutrients for a more extended period in comparison to high-speed juicers.
Aside from making nutrient-rich juices, the Tribest Slowstar Vertical Masticating Juice Extractor can also perform some basic food processing tasks with the help of the mincer attachment. It’s useful for making sauces, nut butter and sorbets.
What Kinds of Produce Can the Slowstar Juicer Take?
This juice press can process all types of produce—dense fruits and vegetables, citruses, and leafy greens.
The Tribest SlowStar Vertical Slow Juicer can handle fibrous vegetables like carrots, beets, ginger, turmeric, celery, and sweet potato. Just don’t skip on cutting those veggies into manageable pieces.
It can easily process softer ones like apples, cucumber, watermelon, pears, pineapple, garlic, etc., including citruses like oranges, grapefruit, lemons, and limes. You also need to cut these items, and it would be advisable to remove the seeds and peel your citrus fruits before juicing it.
Following this procedure will prevent damage to your juicing machine, and it will also enhance the taste of your juice. Seeds and rinds are bitter.
And if you want to puree mushy fruits such as avocado, papaya, kiwifruit, grapes, mangoes, peach, and berries, switch your top set with the mincer attachment.
You can also make soy and almond milk using the same accessory. Beans or nuts have to be soaked overnight, so it’s soft enough for the juicer to process. Please note that this machine is not meant for grinding.
