The Vitamix E320 Explorian Blender is the doppelgänger of E310. It looks identical, but it has a more powerful motor and includes a bigger container. And to top it all off, it comes with longer warranty coverage.
At the time I’m writing this, it’s hovering around the same price point as its smaller sibling. In theory, you’ll have the most bang for your buck if you’ll get the Vitamix E320.
If you opt for the much cheaper Vitamix Explorian blender, then decide to get a larger jar later on, you’ll be spending approximately 30% more.
I’m not sure when this deal will last, so grab it while it’s still there.
Moving on, let’s take a look at the advantages of Vitamix E320.
PROS
- Classic design
- More affordable than other Vitamix blenders
- Robust motor (powerful enough to make hot soup)
- Straightforward controls (10-speed with pulse switch)
- Easy cleaning, no need to disassemble
- Leak-free lid
- 64-ounce container for a large batch
- 7+ extra accessories
- Durable stainless steel blade
- Dishwasher safe parts
- BPA-free
- 7-year warranty
CONS
- This is uncommon, but food bits can get in between the switches
- Louder than most Vitamix blenders
- If you get the personal cup attachment, there’s an extra adapter you’d need (a cup within a cup). It may use up more space than necessary.
Vitamix E320 Features
Application
All blenders can puree, make smoothies, and crush ice. The Vitamix Explorian E320, however, can do those on a whole new level and more!
Here’s the full list of its capabilities:
Now the question is: Is the E320 easy to use?
Let’s see.
Ease of Use
Just because it’s a high-performance blender doesn’t mean it has to be hard to use. In fact, it should be the other way around.
Luckily, the Vitamix E320 is very straightforward. The learning curve is relatively flat. It has a 10-speed dial, a pulse lever, and of course, the power switch—just those three to fiddle with. It also comes with a cookbook to get you started.
Cleaning the machine is extremely simple as well. As easy as five steps:
- ½ fill with warm water
- Add a dash of soap
- Run the blender for 30-60 seconds
- Rinse
- You can simply wipe the base with a damp cloth
Or you could run it in your dishwasher.
One thing to like about Vitamix is it offers multitude of accessories for different purposes.
Maybe you need an extra jar? Say a personal cup? Or maybe you need to make flour from scratch?
Here are your options:
Vitamix E320 Accessories
Unleash the maximum potential of Vitamix Explorian E320 with these BPA-free accessories.
Low Profile 64 oz Container (Included)
A low-profile design doesn’t take much space and is more efficient. A container this big is perfect for making 6-10 servings of smoothies.
Low Profile 48 oz Container
If you won’t be making big batches, this is probably the attachment you need. Additionally, this 48-ounce jar comes with the E310.
Classic 64 oz Container
Your Vitamix E320 is compatible with this tall-profile container and as well ass classic jars for legacy blenders. There’s nothing wrong with having this traditional attachment, it can still get the job done. However, the low-profile design is more efficient.
48 oz Stainless Steel Container
Plastic pitchers, may need extra care because of stains or odors. This “stainless” steel container, on the other hand, doesn’t. It can handle food better (especially hot), because it’s non-reactive and it lasts longer.
Aer Disc Container
A mixer substitute? To some extent, this Vitamix Aer Disc Container accessory may succeed your mixer. It can better emulsify sauces, whip cream, extract juice, create foamy drinks.
32 oz Container
When preparing for only 2 people (or fewer), you don’t need a big jar, do you? If that’s the case, this 32-ounce wet container is more practical. As a bonus? It’s easier and faster to clean than other jars.
32 oz Dry Grains Container
Making nut butter? If so, you might want to get this extra accessory. The regular container can handle dry goods but not as good as this one. Attached with special blades, this 32-ounce dry container produces a reverse vortex for a more delicate texture (it also prevents cramming).
Personal Cup Adapter
A countertop blender, and a personal blender, 2-in-1! If your lifestyle is active or busy, this is going to be beneficial. You can subtract extra actions with the Vitamix Personal Cup Adapter than when you use a bigger container. Simply put, you can still have your daily smoothie, without getting late!
*Please note that the smart detect accessories (for Vitamix Ascent) will not work with Explorian Series blenders.
