Here’s the kicker:

Even when you’re not using it as a blender accessory, you can still use this as a travel cup. Pretty resourceful, don’t you think? And it fares well for several reasons (I’ll discuss it in a bit).

Now: Before I start, please note that this is not compatible with the Ascent Series. If your blender is a Vitamix Ascent, the one that you’re looking for is the Vitamix Blending Cup Kit.

What can you make with Vitamix Personal Cup Adapter?

This accessory can be your perfect companion if you can’t live without smoothies. Who doesn’t love smoothies?

For starters, this cup is specifically for shakes or healthy drinks. It’s a single-serve cup you can easily carry around. So, if your mornings are busy or you usually go on a run, a to-go cup is a win-win. 

You don’t even have to worry about spilling because it comes with a seal that prevents it from leaking.

As a bonus? Your smoothie will stay cold thanks to the Double Insulated Material it’s made with.

Here are the uses for this container:

Furthermore, it’s better to not use this container other than its designated purpose. For example, you shouldn’t make soup because it wasn’t made for a hot drink. There’s no vent, so a pressure buildup is likely to happen.

In case your goal for this personal cup is for other things, like dry recipes or hot soups; Then, I’d suggest against it. It won’t work well with other recipes. 

If that applies to you, then you should get a 32-ounce (946 mL) container instead. At least with that, the recipe you can make isn’t as limited as this personal container.

Is Vitamix Single Serve Cup Adapter easy to use?

For the Vitamix Personal Cup Adapter’s usability, I’d give it 3 out of 5. Don’t worry; once you get it, it’ll be effortless. But when starting, there are some things you should know.

Starting with the locking mechanism. Before putting the personal cup, the gasket seal should be put in place to prevent any leaks.

This works like any other, but you have to double-check that you find the sweet spot before tightening it. You also have to make sure that it is tight enough but not too firm. Too little or too much can lead to leaks.

Here’s the kicker:

Putting ingredients isn’t the same as the regular jar. It has to be inverted, so the solid component goes first, and the liquids should be last. 

Oh, and before you start making smoothies, there is one crucial point you need to know. You should slice your ingredients to at least 1-inch (2.54 cm) in size. If not, your blender will have a hard time and may not even blend properly. 

You should start at a low speed until the blades clutch the elements, then gradually increase the speed. Since you can’t use a tamper to assist your blender, you might have to shake it from time to time. If it’s still not blending well, you might have to add some more liquids.

By the way, when using the cup to-go, you also have to put the seal on the lid. This will inhibit any possible leaks.

Last but not least, cleaning. It is straightforward to clean, either scrub brushing or dishwasher (top-rack safe). Just make sure to remove the gasket seal before cleaning it. 

Best advice? Please read the manual that comes with it before blending anything.

Other Highlights

The first time you use it, there may be some spills. Don’t get frustrated and consider it a learning opportunity.

Why? Compared to the Ascent Personal Blending cup, this is harder to use for beginners. Especially with the lock, there is no guide on where you need to align it. 

But once you get it? It’s no problem. You might even use it every day!

One other feature worth mentioning is the blades. It’s made with hardened stainless steel blades, just like regular-sized containers!

Considering it’s a small-sized container, I assumed that the blades are made with cheaper materials. But it’s not; it’s still high-quality.  And it comes with a 3-year warranty, so that’s another plus for this accessory.
