The Hurom HP Slow Juicer is a part of Hurom’s second generation Personal Series. This vertical, masticating juicer is compact in size and fits just about anywhere on the counter. It is available in a white finish. Full capacity is less than other models at only 350 milliliters. Hurom’s patented Slow Squeeze Technology is intended to mimic the squeezing of juice by hand, thus reducing damage to the juice. Centrifugal juicers shred, pulverize, and heat up the produce, which in turn produces less juice and the least amount of nutrients. With this juicer, you can create almond milk, fresh juice, and tasty sorbets. It comes with a book full of a variety of recipes.
Like other models in the Hurom line, it is BPA-free. The body is constructed out of a dent resistant ABS casing. The Ultem auger and juicing screen are eight times stronger than most other plastics. It rotates at only 43 RPM, which is half the speed of most juicers on the market. The integrated juice cap allows you to not only mix juices, but also clean the interior with ease in conjunction with the spinning brush. The control lever allows you to adjust the level of pulp in your juice. It only operates on 150 watts of power. When in operation, the only sound heard is the crunching and pressing of the veggies, fruits, greens, or nuts. The motor is covered by a 10-year warranty and a two-year warranty covers the components.

Features & Product Details
Is it Easy to Use?
The Hurom HP Personal Series is quick and easy to assemble after a couple of attempts. However, it is slightly heavier, weighing 15.9 pounds (7.2 kilograms). Therefore, I recommend setting it up in a single spot on your kitchen counter and leaving it there, unless you do not mind picking it up every time you want to use it. It only comes with the Ultem fine juicing strainer.
As with all vertical masticating juicers, it utilizes gravity to encourage self-feeding. To ensure steady juicing, prepare your items prior to juicing. The feed chute is smaller to prevent fingers from entering and getting caught on the auger wings. Cut everything up into thinner and smaller pieces. If you are juicing items like celery, then chop them into pieces no longer than an inch. The long fibrous pieces might get caught up in the auger.
If you place your items in at a steady pace, then you should not encounter any issues with jamming of the machine. If you experience a jam, then turn it off, and reverse the machine to force the produce in the opposite direction. Use the pusher to gently help your items catch on the auger wings. If you feel like mixing juices within the chamber, simply close the cap and allow it to mix inside before allowing it to pour out into the juice container.
Is it Easy to Clean?
The Hurom HB Slow Juicer is easy to clean. The best way to clean the components is by hand. The spinning brush clears away the pulp from the juicing strainer as it juices and also if you fill it with water while it operates.
Small and large cleaning brushes are included with the juicer to make cleaning a little easier. These brushes make reaching small crevices a breeze. Disassemble the parts and submerge them in warm, soapy water. Use the brushes to scrub off the excess pulp from the juice strainer. Clear the pulp ejector of any leftover pulp and rinse the components clean.
If you can’t wash it right away, then at least rinse the strainer clear of pulp. If it dries on the screen, then it hardens and becomes more difficult to remove. If that happens, simply place it in warm water, and let it soak to loosen it up before attempting to clean it.
Juice Quality
Even though this model does not hold the same volume of liquid at the other models, the Hurom HP Slow Juicer extracts high-quality juice using Hurom’s patented Slow Squeezing Technology (SST). The auger breaks down the produce by squeezing and pressing it against the juicing screen. It accomplishes this in much the same manner that juice is squeezed by hand at only 43 RPM instead of 80 RPM.
Unlike centrifugal juicers that expel wet pulp, it removes the highest possible quantity of juice, leaving behind extremely dry pulp. The other major difference is that there isn’t any heat generation or oxidation because Hurom’s juicers have been optimized for taste throughout the years. It is also packed with antioxidants, phytonutrients, and vitamins. It may have some pulp content, but it can be easily strained out with a sieve. Juice extracted from a masticating juicer type can be stored for up to 72 hours in the refrigerator. You can use glass, stainless steel, or plastic containers. Fill the container almost the entire way to the top, then seal with a tight lid.
What Kinds of Produce Can it Juice?
This juice press can process all types of produce—soft & hard produce, citrus fruits, leafy greens, and some beans and nuts.
Hard produce includes pear, beets, apple, sweet potato, asparagus, carrots, pepper, celery, cucumber, fennel, ginger, coconut, garlic, yakon, turmeric, cauliflower, bitter gourd, watermelon, broccoli, cilantro, pumpkin and pineapple.
Using the coarse ultem strainer you can turn blackberry, avocado, pomegranate, strawberry, grapes, mango, tomato, melon, peach, kiwifruit, papaya and cranberries into a puree. The bad news is you need to purchase the coarse strainer separately.
Leafy greens include dandelion greens, pine tree needles, parsley, cabbage, spinach, brussels sprout, lettuce, beet greens, basil, peppermint, spring onion, kale, collard greens, wheatgrass and moringa.
Citrus fruits include tangerine, lime, orange, lemon, mandarin and grapefruit.
You can also make soy and almond milk with it
Verdict
The Hurom HP Personal Series outperforms other juicers on the market producing juice. It extracts a higher yield when compared to most other vertical masticating juicers. This is attributed to the reduced auger speed. It is a sturdy juicer that operates quietly enough to run it while everyone is sleeping in the morning. This machine is an all-around versatile type, meaning that it can juice most items with ease.
In addition to juice, it can make soup, sorbets, nut milks, and more. With that in mind, softer fruits and vegetables are best alternated with dense vegetables to help them pass through the chamber. The same goes for leafy greens. These may need to be tightly rolled to help push them through. Sometimes it can clog, but usually, it is due to user error and not a machine malfunction. These issues can be avoided by cutting up your items into smaller pieces. Allow gravity to do its job and suck the produce down into the auger. If you put too much, then it will definitely get clogged.
Another feature of this machine is the set of duplicate safety sensors that do not allow it to operate unless properly assembled. It comes with an integrated cooling system with heat vents to prevent overheating. The Hurom HP Slow Juicer is currently Hurom’s most affordable juicer. Even though it is smaller in size, it does not lack in the production department. Clean up is a breeze and you are left with healthy, unprocessed juice. Cheers!
