Waring PJE401 Professional Juice Extractor is the doppelganger of Acme 6001. It’s basically the same product with different names which are both listed in Amazon. In case you’re wondering what’s the difference between the two, it’s just the logo. Everything else is the same, bumper to bumper. For your information, Acme Juicers are manufactured and distributed by Waring.
This machine has an internal pulp collector akin to Breville BJE200XL. The problem with this system is that you’ll have to constantly pause to collect the pulp inside the juicing chamber which is a huge hassle. If that idea sounds terrible to you, just pick a decent centrifugal juicer over here or choose a different one on this comparison table.
However let us not ignore that this machine is still powerful, at 3600 RPM this can juice a whole apple in a few seconds. The juicing chamber, cutting disk, and mesh filter are made of stainless steel. It’s safe to say that you’re juice won’t contain any traces of plastic toxin. If you’d like to ask whether the plastic components are BPA Free, sadly it’s not but most of the parts that touches your produce are metal so you don’t have to worry much about it.

An optional citrus attachment can turn PJE401 into a stand-alone citrus extractor.
Pros
- Affordable
- Highly compact
- Durable construction; the base is made of high grade poly-carbonate and the upper section is composed of commercial grade stainless steel
- The closed lid design prevents juice to spew out of the chamber and there’s no need for you to push your produce
Cons
- Short shelf life (24 hours)
- Internal pulp collection system is a huge hassle
- The chute is too narrow, you’ll have to chop your produce into small pieces for it to fit in a small opening
- Not ideal for juicing leafy greens, let alone wheatgrass
- Noisy

Features & Product Details
Is it Easy to Use?
This juicing machine doesn’t have much parts to assemble and disassemble. If you are juicing small quantity of produce, there will be no issues. However, juicing can be cumbersome if you’ll process a huge amount of produce as it doesn’t have external pulp ejection. This means that you’ll have to stop every once in a while to get rid of the accumulated pulp. So the short answer is no. Juicers without external pulp ejection are difficult to deal with.
Is it Easy to Clean?
Detachable parts are dishwasher safe which is a big plus, however you should always have a filter lining available. Ideally you should stack up hundreds of this lining if you are juicing on a daily basis. It’s a disposable piece of sheet that catches all the pulp. Not only does it help you separate the juice from your produce, it also prevent the pulp from sticking on the side of the juicing chamber, thus making cleanup easier.
Juice Quality
Fast juicers tend to incorporate a lot of air into the juice. If you’ll compare it with slow juicers, juice extracted from centrifugal juicers will be more frothy. This is a visible sign of oxidation or the chemical breakdown of the juice or simply spoiling. This is the reason why you only have 24 hours to consume juice extracted from fast juicers.
What Kinds of Produce Can it Juice?
This juice extractor is limited to juicing hard produce and citrus fruits.
Hard produce include beets, fennel, carrots, bitter gourd, cilantro, cauliflower, watermelon, broccoli, garlic, celery, pumpkin, ginger, pineapple, pepper, apple, asparagus, cucumber, yakon, turmeric, pear, coconut and sweet potato.
An optional citrus attachment will make it possible to process citrus fruits such as grapefruit, lime, tangerine, lemon, mandarin and orange.
It’s not advisable for leafy greens, soft fruits, let alone making soy and almond milk.
Verdict
If your juicing routine consists of mainly hard produce and citrus fruits, Waring PJE401 Professional Juice Extractor is a great choice. This machine is highly recommended if you’re just starting out. However, if you would like to process a wide variety of produce, go for cold press juicers.
