Waring Pro JEX328 Health Juice Extractor is a pretty straightforward centrifugal juicer. It’s missing all the bells and whistles leading centrifugal juicers have but it’s still a powerful 400 watt juice extractor capable of processing hard produce and citrus fruits. This juicing machine is probably one of the most affordable juicers in the market whose specifications are comparable to Breville BJE200XL for 1/3 of its price.
In terms of looks and design, there’s nothing impressive about it. It looks like a standard electric kettle made of brushed stainless steel and black non-BPA free plastic. It is a single speed (no info about RPM) juicer with internal pulp collection system making it a bad choice if you would like to juice continuously. With internal pulp design, you’ll have to stop from time to time to remove the pulp collected in the juicing chamber. One thing that also bothers me is the flip switch button, it makes it look like a DIY science project.
The ultimate selling point of this machine though is the price, that’s unquestionable. If you’re just starting out and if you’re curious if juicing will work for you then this can be your decent first juice extractor.
Pros
- Cheap
- Compact design
- Dishwasher safe
- 1 year warranty is definitely great for the price
Cons
- Feeding chute is crescent shape which means that you’ll have to chop off your produce into smaller pieces unlike newer centrifugal juicers which you can fit a whole apple in its feeding tube.
- Too loud, it’s probably a bad idea to juice at night and early in the morning
- 24 hour juice shelf life
- Centrifugal generally produces lower juice quality because of high oxidation rate
- The pulp produced is still wet, you’re going to waste a lot nutrients
- Can’t juice leafy greens
- Internal pulp collection is not ideal for continuous juicing
- Not BPA Free
- This machine is not heavy duty, some users are reporting that the tiny safety locking mechanism can get broken easily, if you break it it will no longer work

Features & Product Details
Is it Easy to Use?
This electric juicer doesn’t have a lot of parts to assemble and disassemble, to be exact there are only five parts including the 32 oz. stainless steel juice collector cup. It’s definitely easy to use but it’s not built for continuous juicing. If you’re planning to juice in large quantities you’ll have to be prepared on stopping the machine from time to time to remove the accumulated pulp from the juicing chamber once it’s full. Waring JEX328 is not a hard core juicer with an external pulp ejection system.
Is it Easy to Clean?
With just a few parts, cleanup is very easy. All of it can be placed at the top rack of your dishwasher. The most difficult part to clean is the cutting disk as with any centrifugal juicer, it’s the part that really accumulates pulp and you’ll have to be careful not to cut your fingers. It’s worth mentioning that the complimentary cleaning brush is specifically made for the strainer disk. Generally speaking cleaning up your juicer right away will save you a lot of time and effort. Letting your juicer sit for a few hours will cause build up of pulp and residue which are difficult to get rid of.
Juice Quality
All fast juicers produce the same yield and produce the same quality of juice which is a huge disappointment. Fast RPM sucks up a lot of air causing breakdown of enzymes and nutrients, the reason why juice can only last up to 24 hours. The longer you delay drinking your juice, the more nutrients you lose.
What Kinds of Produce Can it Juice?
This juice extractor is limited to juicing hard produce such as watermelon, garlic, cucumber, cilantro, turmeric, apple, broccoli, cauliflower, ginger, asparagus, carrots, sweet potato, yakon, pineapple, pear, pepper, celery, pumpkin, beets, bitter gourd and fennel.
It can also process citrus fruits including lemon, mandarin, lime, tangerine, orange and grapefruit.
It’s not ideal for leafy greens, soft fruits, let alone almonds and soy beans.
Verdict
Waring Pro JEX328 Health Juice Extractor is highly recommended for first time and would-be juicers. It’s inexpensive, easy to use and clean, highly compact and can process common juice ingredients like carrots, apple, beets, cucumber and other hard produce and citrus fruits.
Please note that this juicer can’t process leafy greens including wheatgrass. The warranty is comparable to Breville juicers, however some user feedback suggest that the parts are highly breakable, and it stopped working with just very minimal usage. Considering that you’ll pay for the shipping for warranty claims, it’s going to be more cost effective to buy a new one in the end, that’s probably the catch for an ultra low cost juicer. Though it’s cheap it’s definitely not the best bang for your buck.
