Masticating Juicers can process almost everything, from fruits and vegetables to leafy greens such as wheatgrass, spinach and kale. Some models can even help you make soy and almond milk.

The efficient low-speed masticating technology presses and extracts juice instead of shredding like high speed juicers do. The juicing screw masticates the fruits and vegetables, breaking down the cellular structure and releasing the nutrients and minerals. This technology minimizes oxidation and preserves nutrients and healthy enzymes, producing a fresh all natural juice which can last up to 72 hours.

My Champion Juicer is over 28 years old and I found it, old and stained (not a black model) at a yard sale ten years ago. Sadly the stains are there, but it works like a champ! When I make juice, it may be by the glassful (which is fine) or by the half gallon because the grand kids love to be involved in both the juicing and the drinking! An assembly line is created where the youngest is by my side and will drop a few pieces of fruit or veggie into the spout while the oldest (who is old enough to use a knife) cuts the softer items to go in. We often set this up out doors so that any mess that may occur is not a problem. Today was simple - carrots, apple and a bit of ginger for a zing. - H. Haymond

My mom has owned a Champion Household Juicer 2000 for over 25 years, so my boyfriend bought one about 1 1/2 years ago. He purchased it because my mom has never had one problem in over 25 years with hers. The juicer is heavy duty, literally runs with a small motor…the juice is pure and delicious. There is NO other juicer I would purchase. This is it. - Joanne Day

Just got my Champion juicer so this is just my initial impression. I used a Breville juicer before. Towards the end of its life, it leaked a lot of juice and required a lot of fruits and vegetables to create a small amount of juice. It did not juice greens well. I am particularly impressed by this Champion juicer. Right out of the box, it is heavy and sturdy. It reminds me of my grandmother’s iron sewing machine. I got an exceptional amount of juice out of a very little amount of fruits and vegetables. The manual recommends running through the extract again, which I never thought to do. So there is very little waste left over. I put through carrots, pears, apples, celery, cucumbers, spinach and tomatoes through with no problem. I did notice the celery string wound around the cutter, though when I tried cleaning it. However, it is really easy to clean. You do need to get a few things. You’ll need a brush to clean. That came with the Breville. You’ll need a bottle brush. Also need a screwdriver to pop off the cutter, which is a little unexpected. I am looking forward to continued use of my Champion juicer. - Linda
