Well, I expected more of a difference, but I suppose there isn’t much.
But wait, let me tell you something:
Based on my experience, the 6-qt Instant Pot Pro is good enough for approximately 6 people or fewer.
More than that, then I highly recommend the more generous 8 Quart Pro. It’s also an excellent choice if you often meal prep during the weekends.

What can you cook with the Instant Pot Pro?
Of all the recent pressure cookers from the brand, the Pro Instant Pot features the most cooking programs. Therefore, anything you can do with the original Instant Pot Duo, the Pro can do better (or at least easier).
First off, pressure and slow cooking.
Pressure Cook
With pressure cooking, you can turn your regular recipes into something spectacular. To keep it short, with this function, you can effortlessly and swiftly create tender, juicy, and delicious recipes. Moreover, compared to traditional methods, Instant Pot Pro makes it so easy to do.
What can you cook: whole chicken, roast beef, carnitas, turkey, pork loin, chili, mashed potatoes, etc.
Slow cooking also achieves soft yet juicy meat with ease. However, unlike pressure cooking, it requires patience since most recipes take 6 hours to cook. Don’t worry; the end result is undoubtedly worth the wait!
What can you cook: roast beef, beef stroganoff, pulled pork, turkey, corned beef, etc.
Slow Cook
Sear/Sauté
Sautéing in the same pot before pressure or slow cooking is a significant advantage. Here are two crucial reasons:
- There’ll be fewer pots/pans to clean later on.
- Easier deglazing and reusing of flavors.
As if that’s not enough:
The Instapot Pro also levels up the inner pot. Essentially, it now has handles for easier removal or placement. Moreover, it’s oven safe and stovetop ready. As a result, you can use the same vessel on your oven range for a more controlled heat for sautéing.
Here are the rest of Instapot’s one-touch programs.
Is Instapot Pro easy to use?
Here’s the catch:
The controls of Instant Pot Pro are a bit more confusing than other models. (see picture below)
In summary, the Pro has a crowded and unorganized control panel. It doesn’t affect the performance per se, but for first-time users, it’ll take some time to get used to.
Here’s the good news:
The 28 programs are one-touch or smart. Essentially, the functions have predetermined settings (duration, pressure, or temperature). So, using the Instant Pot Pro 10-in-1 Multi-Cooker can be as easy as adding the ingredients, securing the lid, selecting your program, and letting it be.
And of course, you can also personalize the settings according to your recipe. Furthermore, it’s not just the recipes you can personalize, but the Instapot Pro itself. You see, it features “favorite” programs where you can save your most-used recipes and be easily accessible.
Since the machine saves your settings, recreating a perfect recipe has never been easier (even if it’s months apart).
Here’s more:
The dial is several times better than the +- button when adjusting numerical data such as duration and temperature. Think about it, with plus/minus buttons, it takes numerous presses before getting to your desired value.
On the other hand, turning a dial only requires a quick second. Plus, it makes the control panel look simpler.
Best one yet:
The Instant Pot Pro features automatic sealing. In a nutshell, you don’t need to remind yourself to set the vent to ‘seal,’ as the machine does it for you. Plus, there’s a separate vent switch making it safer and easier to operate.
How to clean the Pro Instant Pot?
Fortunately, cleaning the Instapot Pro is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
As I have mentioned earlier, since you can use the same pot for sautéing, there’ll be one less pan to worry about.
With that said, here’s a video demo on how to clean your Instant Pot.
Here’s the thing:
That’s technically a demonstration for Instant Pot Max, but most, if not all, Instapots clean the same way. Even when you don’t feel like hand washing, you can always load the lid and inner pot into the dishwasher.

Don’t take my word for it, here’s a short video demonstration from the brand.
The Instant Pot Pro 10-in-1 Pressure Cooker is an absolutely marvelous kitchen applieance with stunning aesthetics. It features 2 sizes: 6 and 8 quarts; brilliant for 6 or more people or batch cooking. Moreover, the machine highlights 28 smart programs, with 10 significant functions and 5 favorite custom programs to make any kitchen tasks more manageable.

Here’s the thing:
These notable features barely scratch the surface for both Pro Crisp and Pro Plus. With that said, you can click either of their names to learn more about them.
Between the three, the Instant Pot Pro Plus triumphs effortlessly. For one, you’ll definitely love the automatic venting feature. Essentially, you don’t have to run to the kitchen when you need to open the vent. In fact, you can quickly release steam through your smartphone!
Luckily, the Instant Pot Pro is still worth it, considering that it’s the most budget-friendly with abundant features.
What accessories can I get with the Instant Pot Pro?
There are must-have accessories for the Instant Pro electric pressure cooker.
Extra Sealing Ring
Model # 211-0007-01
Since the silicone rings are porous, some of the flavors or odors may seep in. Vice versa, any tastes or odors from the silicone ring may transfer to your next recipe. This is why I highly recommend getting extra ones, separate for flavorful recipes and another one for unflavored recipes like rice.

One thing missing from the list of accessories above is the Air fryer lid. Sadly, it’s not compatible with 6-quart Instant Pot Pro. I guess the brand wants you to purchase the Instant Pot Pro Crisp to unlock that cooking technique.

Is the Instant Pot Pro worth it?
While the Instant Pot Pro 10-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker is more expensive than the original version, given its extra beneficial features such as automatic sealing, it’s worth every penny. Not to mention, it’s not even that expensive compared to buying separate machines, which the Instapot Pro can already do.
