Top 7 Best Vitamix Blenders

#1 The Best Vitamix Overall: The A3500 Ascent Series

Best Vitamix Blender, A3500 Ascent Series Blender

Vitamix is a premium blender brand and it’s rather fitting to have their flagship model on top of this list, the Ascent A3500. It’s the most expensive in the brand’s product lineup, but it has all the features the brand is moving forward.

Let’s begin with the presets and timer.

If you’re always multitasking, it will save you a ton of effort. You can either set a blending time or press any of the five preprogrammed buttons—smoothie, hot soups, nut butter, frozen desserts, and self-cleaning—leave it, and you can work on other stuff.

Quick and easy, right?

Here’s more:

If you’ll install Vitamix’s Perfect Blend app, you’re going to unlock 12 more automatic functions.

It’s also equipped with a Self-Detect technology that will automatically adjust the duration and RPM depending on the container’s size. More importantly, (as an added safety feature) it will not allow you to make hot soups in a non-vented container like the blending cup and the blending bowl.

Last but not least:

The A3500 is more than just a blender. You can extend its capabilities to a number of food processing functions, such as grinding whole grains and emulsifying olive oil and vinegar for a fine dish. All you have to do is upgrade your machine with any of the Ascent compatible accessories.

It’s truly a top of the line product from Vitamix.

#2 Cheapest Vitamix: E310 Explorian Series

Vitamix E310, black

Vitamix used to be all-expensive blenders, but nowadays? It’s different. I actually applaud them for creating a high-performance yet budget-friendly household blender.

So, if you’re just starting out in the Vitamix family but don’t want to spend a lot, the Explorian E310 is the way to go.

In fact, it’s blend quality is on par with the more premium machines such as the A3300 or A3500.

There are just a couple of drawbacks you need to know.

First off, Vitamix E310 has a 2 HP motor. It won’t work with the low profile 64oz container. If you’re only making a few batches at a time, this won’t be a problem. However, if you think you’ll need a large capacity jar, you should get the Explorian E320.

Now:

The biggest issue for Explorian is its loudness. If it is a big deal for you, you should look into getting an Ascent model.

Update:

If you want it even cheaper model, there’s the 100th edition blender—Vitamix ONE. It’s compact entry level blender with 840-watt motor, which is half as much power as any of the blenders on this list.

You can read the full review of Vitamix E310 here.

#3 Top Rated: Vitamix A3300 Ascent Series

Top Rated Vitamix Blender: Ascent Series A3300, black diamond

What makes A3300 the best rated Vitamix blender is its smart capabilities minus the ludicrous price tag. It’s not cheap, but it’s pretty much capable as the flagship Ascent Series model.

You’ll still have access to all the features when you install the Vitamix App. All the 17 presets and over 500 follow along recipes are in there.

The most impressive hallmark of Vitamix A3300 isn’t the wireless connectivity. It’s actually the timer that will allow you to do a walkaway blending. Simply put, it automatically stops when the clock hits zero.

If you’re usually busy in the kitchen, you know how essential this is. You’ll be able to do other things without worrying about over blending or under blending.

You can read the full review of Vitamix A3300 here.

#4 Quietest Vitamix: Vitamix The Quiet One

Vitamix The Quiet One

Without any doubt, Vitamix The Quiet One is the most silent blender from Vitamix. However, it requires a significant amount of investment as it’s a proper commercial blender. Starbucks didn’t pick this machine for no reason.

With its sound reduction technology, it was able to level the noise down to 65 decibels. It’s the sound you’d expect with a normal conversation. That’s far from the average 90+ dB from standard countertop blenders.

When it comes to blending presets, I think it has all the possible programs for any recipe. If the Ascent Series offers 17, the Vitamix commercial blender has 34 automatic programs. That’s overkill for a household setting, IMHO.

If you want a cheaper alternative, the Ascent Series is way quieter than its predecessors. Though it’s not in the same league as The Quiet One, it’s a notable leap from Vitamix’s legacy blenders.

Here are all the Ascent blenders: A2300, A2500, A3300, A3500.

Bonus: Other than the Ascent, Vitamix Pro 750 is also a quieter option.

You can read the full review of Vitamix The Quiet One here.

#5 Most Powerful: Vitamix Pro 750

Vitamix Pro 750, pearl grey

To tell you honestly, any Vitamix blender with a 2.2 HP motor should be on this list. It includes the Ascent product line, Venturist V1200Explorian E320, and legacy blenders like 5300 C-Series, Vitamix 750 G-Series, and 7500 G-Series.

You’d ask: What’s the difference between a 2.0 and a 2.2 HP motor?

Well, it’s not that significant. You can do pretty much the same thing with both machines.

But here’s the caveat:

If you need a 64 oz, low profile container…. Guess what? It will only work efficiently with a 2.2 HP motor. It’s still going to fit a blender base with less torque, although it may damage your machine.

I can’t pinpoint the exact science behind this, but perhaps it’s due to the more prominent blade profile. You’ll notice that the Ascent series doesn’t have this issue anymore since all of the models have a 2.2 HP motor.

Therefore, if you’re looking for the most powerful Vitamix, you have plenty of options.

You can read the full review of Vitamix Pro 750 here.

#6 Best for Smoothies: Vitamix A2500 Ascent Series

Vitamix A2500 Ascent Series Blender

Here’s the thing:

Vitamix blenders are primarily designed for making smoothies. When it comes to blend quality, you won’t go wrong with any of their products. The motor, blade design, and overall performance are identical from the Ascent series down to the legacy blenders.

However, since many of you are asking, let’s keep the options short.

There are Vitamix models that have a button for making smoothies. That will take out the guesswork and save you a bit of time, especially if you’re just starting out.

With that in mind, the best Vitamix for smoothies would include not just one but a few blenders—Vitamix A2500, Vitamix A3500, and Vitamix Pro 750.

#7 Vitamix Immersion Blender

Vitamix Immersion Blender

Last but not least, there’s the Vitamix Immersion Blender. It’s the newest addition to their product catalog. IMHO, it’s a solid product. In fact, it’s our third best immersion blender.

I’m just hoping they would soon release a cordless variant that can directly compete with what KitchenAid has to offer (link).

Two features make the Vitamix Stick Blender a good choice—you can operate it singlehandedly, and its bell-guard is an engineering marvel. It reduces the suction, and at the same time, it protects your favorite cookware from getting scratched.

In a nutshell, it’s fairly easy to use and highly efficient.

Using this table you can compare all the Vitamix blenders side by side—by price, horsepower, smart features, warranty coverage and compatible containers/accessories.

If you want to learn more about the full Vitamix product line, which accessories are compatible with each category, etc. You might want to continue reading.

Let’s start with the Ascent Series.

Vitamix Ascent Series

The brand embraced the smart kitchen trend with the launch of the Ascent Series. It’s the only fully-featured smart blender in the market. By installing Vitamix’s Perfect Blend app, you’ll have access to 17 blending presets and 500 guided recipes. However, you won’t be able to enjoy all those features without the optional smart scale.

Apart from those state of the art quirks, the Ascent Series also offers a new set of accessories—clear lid containers, a redesigned blending cup, and an 8oz blending bowl.

Ascent Containers

The best part? All these attachments are dishwasher safe.

I haven’t even mentioned Self-Detect technology.

Here’s how it works.

When you’re using a Self-Detect enabled accessory, the blending time will automatically adjust to the container’s size. Say when you’re using a blending cup, and you pressed the smoothie button, it will run at its recommended speed and time. There’s no risk of under or over blending a recipe.

This table compares all Vitamix Ascent Series by price, speed, smart features, power, capacity, control type and number of color options.

Bottom Line

All of the Ascent Series blenders have the same 2.2 HP motor, works with the app, same variable speed options, and pulse control. So, it’s just a question of whether you want a touch interface or the classic control panel and blending presets.

Other notable advantages of the Ascent Series are: it’s quieter, it’s compatible with the Vitamix food processor attachment, it comes with a self-cleaning function, and it comes with a dedicated power switch as an additional safety feature.

Vitamix Explorian Series

Some consumers don’t need their blenders to be smart. If you’re one of those individuals, the Explorian Series would be your perfect match. Though it looks more refined than Vitamix’s older models, the controls didn’t change. You’ll have the same familiar switches and a 10-speed dial.

The good news?

It’s a cheaper option than the smart series. In fact, it has the cheapest model—E310.

When it comes to accessories, it’s compatible with all the classic containers.

Classic Containers (with Rubber Lid)

Bottom Line

You need to keep in mind that the E310 has a less powerful motor (2 HP). The company doesn’t explicitly mention this on their website. Still, only 2.2 HP blenders would efficiently work on 64oz low profile containers.

It would fit the E310, although it may overheat. A 0.2 difference may be insignificant, yet it’s better to stay on the safe side rather than risk damaging your machine.

To sum it up, the E310 and the E320 share the same features but the motor. Pick E310 if you need something cheaper and if you’re good with the 48oz container. If you need something bigger, go for the more powerful model.

Vitamix Legacy Series

The demand for Vitamix heritage household blenders is still high up to this day. I believe the brand is just trying to cater to product searches for its legacy series blenders but may soon retire it in favor of newer models.

To be honest, if you’re in the market for a new blender or trying to upgrade your good old Vitamix machine, you have plenty of options with just the Ascent and Explorian series.

Don’t get me wrong, though. Vitamix’s blenders are built to last, and the Legacy Series is the living proof.

In case you’re still interested in getting a classic blender from Vitamix, you have to decide between the C-Series and the G Series. The former was released (approximately) 10 years ago. The latter is turning (approximately) seven years old when I’m writing this.

I present to you the Legacy Series Vitamix Blenders.

This table compares Vitamix Legacy Series by price, motor, capacity, pulse control, noise level, and warranty.

Bottom Line

When you purchase a legacy blender, you’ll still get a 7-year warranty, comparable to the Explorian series. It’s still a good choice, but some models don’t have a pulse lever. Just stay away from those, and you’ll be alright.

All the classic accessories including the Vitamix personal cup adapter are compatible with legacy series blenders. Same rules apply as well, don’t buy a 64 oz low profile container for a 2 HP blender base.

Non-series blenders

These are the products that don’t belong to a particular series (at least, when I’m writing this). More importantly? Both of these blenders are their newest addition to their product catalog.

Let’s start with the Vitamix Immersion Blender. Despite having a weaker motor than Vitamix countertop blenders, it’s still a capable hand-held blending machine. For a more straightforward cleanup and smaller footprint, this is undoubtedly the best choice.

Then, the newest Vitamix One is the brand’s featured product for its 100th anniversary. It’s like the middle ground of the immersion blender and standard ones. Simply put, this blender is ideal if you want a more straightforward and smaller countertop Vitamix that will not break your wallet.

Bonus Product: Vitamix Venturist V1200

The Venturist V1200 is also a smart blender sharing the same high-tech features as the Ascent Series. It’s a package deal built for retailers, Costco in particular.

V1200 Venturist Blender, White

You can also find it at Amazon as a preowned item with a complimentary blending cup, but it does come with a shorter warranty coverage.

When it comes to design, it’s close to the Ascent 2300 series—having an on/off and pulse lever, old-school speed dial, and no preset buttons.

The only downside to the Venturist V1200 is it’s as loud as the Explorian Series.

So there you have it, the major product lines of Vitamix—Ascent, Explorian and the Legacy Series.

The brand also sells a line of commercial blending machines, with Vitamix The Quiet One leading the pack.

So Why Vitamix?

Vitamix has built a cult following for its product. Its fanbase is willing to spend big bucks on a relatively simple machine. At first, it’s a puzzle to me, but the more I go through each product, the more I realize how great it is.

Unlike Breville and Kitchenaid, Vitamix is laser-focused. They are dedicated to producing the best blender in the market. You’ll see this commitment in the Ascent Series. I haven’t seen anything that can compete with its features. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Nada.

So, let me conclude this epic guide with the best Vitamix blender—Vitamix Ascent A3500.

FAQs

Is a Vitamix blender really worth it?

Vitamix is the top blender brand, and it’s worth the money for many reasons. Blend quality is what makes it a great product. You can expect a silky smooth blend out of any of its machines. If you read this buying guide, you’ll know every possible reason why it’s the best blender in the market.

Learn more →

Why is Vitamix so expensive?

Vitamix is a premium blender that produces top-quality smoothies. The resulting blend is silky smooth, period. It’s next to none when it comes to blend quality. Apart from that, Vitamix products are built for heavy-duty usage. The Ascent series, in particular, offers a decade-long warranty coverage which pays for itself over time.

Which Vitamix should I buy for home use?

The best Vitamix model to buy right now is the Ascent A3300, or perhaps any of the Ascent Series blenders. It’s the brand’s line of smart blending machines that offers unrivaled performance and functionality. It’s a great household blender that doubles as a food processing powerhouse when you have the right accessory.

Is Vitamix dishwasher safe?

The newer Ascent Series features dishwasher-safe containers and accessories. Sadly, if you have the Explorian Series or any legacy blender, you have to wash those parts manually.

How does a Vitamix cook soup?

Vitamix blenders can make hot piping soup through friction heat. Its motor is so powerful that it can bring the puree’s temperature to 70°C or 158°F. But the catch is you have to blend it for at least 10 minutes.

Can you grind coffee beans in a Vitamix blender?

Yes, you can grind coffee beans with your Vitamix. However, a proper coffee grinder is still better at performing the task. Blenders introduce a lot of air into your coffee grounds. Oxidation is the ultimate enemy of a perfect blend.

Can you juice with a Vitamix?

No, Vitamix is a blender, not a juicer. It doesn’t have a mechanism to extract juice from the pulp. However, with a little creativity, it’s doable. Say if you have a sieve or cheesecloth, you can strain your produce after blending them. The only thing is you need to add liquid for it to blend properly. So, don’t expect pure juice out of this strategy.

Is Vitamix a food processor?

It’s not, but with the right accessory, you can definitely use your Vitamix as such. The Ascent Series offers a food processor attachment that comes with a complete set of blade systems. It can shred, mince, slice, puree, and mix ingredients just as you would with a proper food processor.

How many watts is a Vitamix blender?

Vitamix blenders have powerful motors ranging from 1400 watts (2 HP) to 1500 watts (2.2 HP).

What to make with Vitamix?

On top of making smoothies, your Vitamix is also capable of making steaming-hot soups, smoothie bowls, nut-based milk, nut butter, frozen desserts, hummus, whip cream, grinding flour, pesto, blend your dough, crush ice, etc. For a full list of applications, you can read this buying guide.

Are there any blenders comparable to Vitamix?

There are other high-performance blenders comparable to Vitamix’s performance. Blendtec Total Blender is its closest competitor, Breville Blender and Dash Blender are also good quality and cheaper alternatives.
