👍 Things I Like
Efficiency & Quality
This juicer genuinely lives up to its name. I found the H200 to be easy to assemble, disassemble, and clean. The H200 juicer also produces a high yield of juice that is only surpassed by the H400 in the Hurom lineup.
Hurom juicers come with a 10-year warranty for their motor. That brings up a good point: if you want to know the build quality of a juicer, look at the length of the warranty.
Oversized Chute
It’s equipped with an ultra-large self-feeding chute that is even bigger than Breville’s 3.5-inch chute.
The wide opening means you don’t cut most of your produce into small pieces as you would with a standard cold press juicer. It’s a huge time saver. Its 6-inch chute can accommodate the largest apples there are.
I’ve tested my fair share of juicers, and let me tell you: juicers with large chutes make juicing faster, more straightforward, and more enjoyable.
Versatility
My husband loves ice-cream but is lactose intolerant. So sorbets are his “ice cream.” And the H200’s smoothie strainer does great job.
Making a sorbet is easy, just process any type of frozen fruit. Allow it to go into the pulp container and scoop your sorbet from there!
The H200 can also make nut milk but, to be honest, I didn’t test that feature and can’t comment on it.
Smoothie Strainer
Use the smoothie strainer to process produce where you want more pulp in your juice. If you like high-pulp juice, then you’ll love this device. While I don’t care for pulpy juice, my mother-in-law does. And she liked fresh OJ from the H200 much more than what comes in a Minute Maid container.
As an added bonus, if you like high-pulp juice, it’s actually better for you. A report by CNN states that nutrients lost through pulp extraction include fiber, polyphenols, and antioxidants, all of which are reasons you are juicing in the first place. The Hurom H200 Juicer allows you to retain most of the pulp and skin so you don’t lose those nutrients.
The ability to generate high-pulp juice is the only leg up that the H200 has over the newer H400 model by Hurom.
Small Footprint
The Hurom H200 Juicer has a smaller countertop footprint than most juicers, thanks to a unique space-saving design. With a footprint of 10-inches by 6.9 inches, it takes up less than half a square foot of space.
It stands 17½-inches tall when fully assembled, so it was too tall to store assembled in my cabinets. I had to remove the hopper and juicer bowl for proper storage.
But don’t let its small size fool you, it is a powerfully effective juicer!
👎 Things I Don’t Like
It’s Not Dishwasher Safe
Although it’s easy to clean, the juicer is not dishwasher safe, which might be a drawback for some users.
In full disclosure, I never wash countertop appliances in the dishwasher. I’ve mentioned that several times because appliances and their parts last much longer with gentler cleaning. But because I know many of my readers value appliances that are dishwasher safe, I’ve included it in this section.
It’s Expensive
While not as expensive as the H400, it’s mighty pricy for a juicer. If you want a more affordable Hurom juicer, try the H101. The biggest difference is the chute size. You’ll have to do more prep work because the Hurom H101 has a much smaller chute. But you’ll also save about $100.
Other Considerations
Warranty
The warranty for the motor is 10-years. However, the other parts have a warranty of 2 years. But replacing parts is a lot less expensive than replacing a motor because at that point you are replacing your juicer!
Juice Quality
Running at 50 RPM, this cold press juicer is exceptional at retaining nutrients and maximizing juice extraction, ensuring a rich, froth-free juice.
Less Prep is Easier on Arthritic Hands
I took care of elderly patients in a previous career, so I know how much of a struggle arthritis can be. The Hurom H200’s design ensures less strain on joints, from the easy juicing of hard-to-cut produce to ergonomic handles and parts. Plus, its ultra-large self-feeding chute is a significant time saver.
If you want to eliminate prep work except for washing your produce, consider upgrading to the Hurom H400.
Is Hurom H200 worth it?
Hurom H200 Easy-Clean Cold Press Juicer is easy to use and clean, efficient at extracting juice and retains more nutrients than standard juicing machines and has fewer drawbacks than many competing juicers.
If you have the budget, you should strongly consider this fantastic juicer.
