There’s a new Nutribullet Pro in town, the Nutribullet Pro 1000. It’s almost at the same price point as the older model but comes with a few significant improvements.

The motor gained a 100-watt increase. It doesn’t look much, but a 10% increment in power is significant since we’re talking about personal-type blenders.

Easier to Take Apart

One major issue about older Nutribullet blenders is the blade assembly. I had a really hard time loosening it from the cup due to its plain surface. Thankfully, they are now adopting an easy-twist design that looks and feels much easier to use.

Refreshed Cup Design

In addition to the updated extractor blades, the cups have also been refreshed. They moved the thread inside the container, making it more comfortable to drink, with or without the lid.

The extractor blades have been updated in this model.

It’s also worth noting that it’s part of the Next Generation products from the brand. I bet this will succeed the older Nutribullet Pro Series moving forward.

Nutribullet Pro 1000 Series Features

Slim & Sleek Design

Nutribullet designs some of the best-looking blenders in the industry. The Pro 1000 is no exception. It isn’t bulky and looks good on any countertop. With just an 8×7 inch footprint, the base fits under most cabinets so that you can keep it handy on your countertop. However, fully assembled the blender will not fit under most cabinets at its 16-inch height.

2 Cup Sizes

The Pro 1000 comes with a 32 oz (946 ml) large cup and a 24 oz (710 ml) Tall Cup. If you plan on making smoothies for the whole family in these travel blend cups, you’ll need to order additional cups of your desired size from below. The 32-ounce large cup is enough smoothie for the entire day, while the 24-ounce cup is great for running errands in the morning.

Improved Lid Design

The new and improved lid ensures a proper seal with no leaks every time. While I experienced no leaks when reviewing this model, this was an often-cited complaint with the previous design.

The fact that the cup has a spout rather than a straw is very convenient. You can fill the 32-ounce travel cup and split it with a friend or family member while out. It also allows it to be stored more securely and effectively in the refrigerator while I’m at the office.

1000 Watt Motor

The motor isn’t powerful enough to make thick smoothie-bowl blends, but for your regular protein shake on the go, it’ll knock it out with no problems. Avoid large chunks of ice, and thaw frozen fruits and berries somewhat before tossing them in your smoothie blender.

One of the upsides of the 1000-watt motor is that, for a blender, it is very quiet. Of course, how much noise the blender makes largely depends on what you are blending and the wattage of the motor.

Nutri Bullet Pro Accessories

A small blender is unbelievably adorable, but it’s on a whole new level when you have these even cuter accessories—all of the jars and lids are dishwasher-safe and BPA-free.

What can you make with Nutribullet Pro?

The Nutribullet Pro 1000-Watt Blender is a fantastic smoothie maker. You can expect a better blend quality with this new machine. In addition to making refreshingly healthy drinks, it can help you with various food processing tasks.

Here are some possible use cases with this 1000-watt blender.

Considering that you’ll have a bigger container, you can be generous with the servings you make. You can make up to 32 ounces at one time, which could provide healthy drinks for 2-4 people depending on serving size. I love using this for a quick breakfast for the whole household on the go.

Things to Remember:

  • The NutriBullet Pro 1000 Series is not designed to process thicker blends. When you’re making ice cream with it, you need enough amount of liquid. Otherwise, you’ll have a hard time mixing your ingredients.
  • The same is true when making baby food. Make sure you’re using plenty of liquids. If you’re wanting thicker baby food, this isn’t the right appliance.
  • If you need a personal blender that can take a thicker mixture, read my review of the Ninja Smoothie Maker. The Nutribullet Pro Plus, a newer 1200-watt model discussed below, is a more affordable and more powerful option than the Ninja Smoothie Maker, but the Ninja is definitely the best.

Remember that the containers of this personal blender are not vented, making them incompatible with hot ingredients. Heat may lead to pressure build-up and may cause injury.

If you need something that can also make hot soups, you might want to consider getting the Nutribullet Rx Blender.

Is it easy to use?

There’s no doubt that the Nutri Bullet Pro is exceptionally straightforward to use, including this 1000-watt version. It’s as simple as push, twist and blend. There are no switches or settings that you need to work with.

Easier-to-Grip Cups

But it isn’t perfect. In fact, one major frustration consumers have over older models is the bare surface of the blade assembly. It’s difficult to grip and detach from the cup.

Thankfully, that issue has been addressed in the Nutribullet Pro 1000 Series. As you can see from the product photo, there’s a bit of a wave pattern with the new easy-twist extractor blade. Assembly and disassembly are now a piece of cake.

Improved Drinking Experience

Aside from that, you’ll also notice the absence of lip rings. Before, you’ll need one if you want to cover up those uncomfortable threads when sipping your drink. In this new version, the threads were moved inside the container.

Those are significant ergonomic upgrades, in my opinion. Usability-wise, I’ll give this product a 4/5.

Dishwasher Safe

In terms of maintenance, all the detachable parts (except the blade base) are dishwasher-safe. I also love the long cord of more than 3 feet with convenient cord storage, so I can take my Nutribullet almost anywhere.

How Does the Nutribullet Pro 1000 Compare?

The Nutribullet Pro series of blenders is definitely an improvement over past models, but how does the Nutribullet Pro 1000 compare to the Pro 900 or the Pro 1200? Here are the basic differences. The Pro 1200 is also known as the Nutribullet Pro Plus, and it is the best smoothie blender from Nutribullet.

FAQs

What is the difference between Nutribullet Pro and Nutribullet Rx?

The main difference between the Nutribullet Pro and Nutribullet Rx blender is that the latter can process hot ingredients. You can use the Nutribullet Rx to make hot soups. That’s not possible with the Nutribullet Pro since it doesn’t come with a vented container. To learn more about the Nutribullet Rx, you can read the full review here.

What’s the difference between Nutribullet and Nutribullet Pro?

The original Nutribullet has a weaker motor than the Nutribullet Pro series. That’s 600 watts vs. 1000 watts. The stronger the motor is, the better the blend quality will be.

Does it crush ice?

The Nutribullet Pro will struggle when crushing ice on its own. However, it’s a different story when we’re talking about smoothie recipes. With the right amount of liquid, it can take on ice cubes just fine.

Can Nutribullet Pro blend frozen fruits?

Straight from your freezer, it will have a hard time blending frozen fruits. However, if you thaw it for a few minutes and add some liquid, you can turn your frozen fruits into a delectable dessert or, perhaps, a smoothie.

Can it blend almonds?

You can blend presoaked almonds with your Nutribullet Pro to make nut-based milk alternatives. As always, you need to add an ample amount of liquid.

Can you make hot soups with it?

No, processing hot ingredients with the Nutribullet Pro is an accident waiting to happen. It’s not just this product. You should take this precaution with any personal blender that has a sealed container.

Does it come with a milling blade?

Unfortunately, the Nutribullet Pro doesn’t have a milling blade accessory. It’s unique to the Magic Bullet and the original Nutribullet.

Is Nutribullet Pro safe?

When used properly, the Nutribullet Pro is perfectly safe. As long as you’re not going to use it to blend hot items and stick to its intended uses, you’ll be alright with this machine. Please refer to your product manual for more info.

Is it dishwasher-safe?

Most of Nutribullet Pro’s parts and accessories are top-rack dishwasher safe, except for the blade assembly.

Is the Nutribullet Pro BPA-free?

Yes, all the parts that come in contact with food are BPA-free.
