I never really liked Omega’s high-speed juice extractor line-up. Most of it resembles one of the oldest juicers in the market, the Acme Juicerator. Despite offering a solution for the internal pulp collection system issue, its design language doesn’t really speak to me. The Omega X-Large Chute High-Speed Juicer, however, is an outlier.

I’m not saying that this model can compete with Breville but it’s one of the cheapest dual-speed centrifugal juicers that will get the job done. I’d say Breville is the king of High-Speed juice extractors while Omega reigns in the kingdom of masticating juicing machines.

In comparison, a two-speed centrifugal juicer with the Breville logo can cost you twice as much as the X-Large Chute. The difference that we’re looking at is, this machine is pretty much plasticky and doesn’t have the BPA-Free seal. In addition, Breville’s feeding chutes are 10% wider.

Pros

  • Very affordable, it’s one of those under $100 juicers
  • One of the fastest juice extractors
  • Extra large feeding chute speeds up prep time
  • Can process hard produce and soft fruits alike
  • Dishwasher safe parts

Cons

  • Not BPA-free
  • It will struggle on juicing green leafy vegetables

Omega X-Large Chute Features & Product Details

Is it easy to use?

This powerful high-speed juicer from Omega is as easy as any other centrifugal juice extractors. It comes with fewer parts to assemble, dis-assemble and wash. The extra large chute will make your juicing life a whole lot easier, cutting your prep time significantly. This is in comparison with slow juicers. If you plan on juicing large quantities, it’s high capacity pulp bin will help you juice continuously and collect up to 72 oz of waste.

Is it easy to clean?

Dishwasher safe parts suggest that cleaning will be a breeze with Omega X-Large Chute. However, if you want to be thorough and get rid of all those residue you’ll have to do some extra steps. Soak those parts for about 30 minutes in a warm water diluted with one or two drops of baking soda or dish washing soap before running it in your dishwasher.

Here’s a pro tip, if you want to save more time, place a biodegradable plastic in the pulp collector. Then, you can either add it to your compost or dump it into your biodegradable trash bin.

Juice Quality

Fast juicers don’t excel in terms of juice quality, this juice maker is not an exception to that rule. High RPM machines tend to mix a lot of oxygen into the juice, speeding up the break down of nutrients. Having non-BPA free parts makes it even worse. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that juice produced by the X-Large Chute is bad, it’s not just on par with cold press juicers.

Juice extracted by this type of machine typically lasts for 24 hours. However, if you want to take advantage of the full nutritional benefit of the juice, don’t wait that long. Drink your fresh glass of goodness as soon as it comes out of the spout.

What kinds of produce can Omega X-Large Chute juice?

This juicing machine will work best on hard produce, soft fruits and citrus fruits.

Hard produce includes pineapple, carrots, jalapeno pepper, garlic, fennel, asparagus, watermelon, pumpkin, cucumber, yakon, turmeric, beets, pear, ginger, apple, cilantro, celery, sweet potato, melon, pepper, broccoli and cauliflower.

Citrus fruits include tangerine, orange, lemon, grapefruit, mandarin, pomegranate and lime.

Soft fruits such as grapes, melon, strawberry, avocado, peach, cranberries, papaya, mango, blackberry and kiwifruit into can be pureed using this machine.

Can it juice leafy greens and help you make non-dairy milk alternatives?

All centrifugal juicers are not efficient in extracting juice from leafy greens, let alone make nut milk.

Is Omega X-Large Chute worth it?

Price is the biggest deciding factor when buying almost anything. The Omega X-Large Chute is one of the most affordable dual-speed centrifugal juicers you can get. It’s half the price of its Breville counterpart and it’s also cheaper than the current best cheap juicer. I can’t emphasize it more. This product is budget friendly.

However, one thing that disappoints me is it’s not BPA-free. It comes standard for most of the juicers these days. All Breville juicers are BPA free, and also Hurom’s.

If you’re not too concerned about this plastic compound, the Omega X-Large Chute High-Speed Juicer is a great product for both newbies and for those who are looking for a bargain on their next juice extractor.
